I bought a Panasonic DVD recorder that transfers VCR to DVD and I love it. You can also record from TV to DVD. You can get one for about $200.

I highly recommend their recorders. It's easy to use.

I have the Magnavox which is exactly the same (they're the same company) and a little cheaper. My old roommate had the Panasonic that her mom paid $1000 for, and when I moved I got the Magnavox. EVERYTHING was exactly the same except the background said Magnavox instead of Panasonic. Plus mine was like half the size, LOL. (she had the first one to come out)

So I'll vouch for the quality - and anyone shopping, make sure you look for whichever has the best deal at the time since they're the same recorder.

Can you supply step by step directions on to do this. I have a DVD Recorder and VCR. I love know how to do this. People been asking do this for the longest time. i thank it's time learn how to do it.

This is how I have everything set up in my living room. Cable goes into the cable box and out to the VCR. The VCR goes out and into the DVD recorder. The DVD recorder goes out to the TV.

When recording, I turn the DVD recorder on and set it up - length of time (anywhere from 1 hour to 8 . . . the fewer hours you choose, the better the quality) then hit "monitor" or whatever your button says that allows you to see what's coming through rather than the DVD recorder menu. Then I turn on the VCR and hit play. As soon as I get to a point where I want to start recording, I hit record on the DVD recorder. . then wait til it's over! Easy peasy!

Then you can edit titles, backgrounds, and index as usual if you've already figured out how to do those. Then just finalize and go!
