Transfer reservation to someone else

There is a chance that we may not be able to go to the cruise because of an illness for one of the members in my family. Would we be able to transfer our reservation to our friends if this occurs?

No. My understanding is that the lead person on the reservation cannot be changed.

You may, depending on how close you are to sail date, be able to change the reservation to a later cruise which may help? Its worth ringing DCL as soon as possible to see what they can do. The one time I've had this situation (lead passenger was ill) they tried moving it to a later date but as it was about a day before they couldn't get the system to do it. If I had been able to notify them earlier they said they should have been able to. It might at least help with the not loosing money aspect.

It doesn't necessarily need to be the lead person but one person from the original booking does need to stay on the reservation to keep it (do name changes for the other passengers). If all passengers are now not traveling and you want completely different people to be able to travel, that's not going to work.
