transfer question - what to do?

I have 2007 points (June UY) banked into 2008 so they need to be used by May 2009. I booked a Feb 2009 vacation for Vero 2/14-2/21 (Sat - Sat) but only got an inn room and was hoping for a one bedroom to use all my points. I am waitlisted (1st time to use that) for the 1 bedroom but if it doesn't go through I will have 36 points expiring May of 2009. All 2008 are currently available. I could:

#1. Do nothing and hope my waitlist goes through.
#2. Offer a transfer for my 36 points now and if my waitlist goes through use 2008 points?
Do I run any risk in waiting to post an offer to transfer points since they would have to be used by May 2009?

Unless you are intending another trip before June other than Vero in Feb, you should act as if those points will be lost, i.e. do not assume waitlist will come through. One problem is that you cannot transfer them -- you cannot transfer banked points. Thus, you could try possibly renting where you make the reservation for another using the points (that is not a "transfer" of points). Other option is to find someone you like to give a trip to.

Yes - you will need the names of all people staying in the villa and the address and phone number of the first person listed on the reservation.
