Can incentive/developer points be transferred?

How do you do a transfer?

Would you trust a transfer to someone who just joined dis in Jan 08?

Both the member receiving the points and the member transferring the point must be present with their membership numbers and information. Youmake the call to DVC Member Services and make the request for a tranfer of points from one member to another. I think you are limited to one transfer per year.
Ask about any other restrictions. I have not made a transfer but I called to inquire about it and was given this information by Disney Member Services.
I don't understand what you are asking about developer points. You can only transfer points that you own or receive points that another DVC Member owns. Call Member services at 800-******** they can fill in all the details. Hope this helps.

Thanks, developer points/incentive points are the points you are given as a bonus when you add onto your contract. I added on 2 contracts to my existing 3 and received those points. I called yesterday and was told that incentive points cannot be transferred to another member. Hope that was correct information.

you cannot transfer developer points, however you can rent them for cash. If you do rent them, be sure to tell the potential renter that they will not recieve a confirmation number upon you making the reservation for them. It may take up to several weeks for the number.

Can incentive/developer points be transferred?
as indicated earlier no, developer banks can not be tranferred(or banked) but what you can do is:

a) rent the points out
B) tranfer your normal use year points and use the developer points yourself

How do you do a transfer??

very simple, all you need to do is call MS and give them the details of how many points were going from where to where.

Would you trust a transfer to someone who just joined dis in Jan 08?

I would yes, transfers are much safer than renting, IMO. Although some get a bit on edge because they do have to provide their memebership info to the member doing the tranfering so MS knows what account its going to

and its still a non face to face transaction in which someone has to give the other something first, so there still is some trust involved

either the member giving the points has to give then trust to get payment, or the member getting the points has to pay then trust to get points
