Hello Dis-experts! We are booked on our bucket-list trip for next September and I am in full-on research mode so I hope you can help! How are the seas on the northerly route? Is it usually warm enough to hit the pools (we are from Canada, so I'm guessing yes?) Is there a lobster night? Does DCL source the lobster beforehand (frozen) or would they stock up with some yummy nova scotia lobster while in port there...or is that illegal? Would there be a pirate night and frozen night? Any tips or advice? Thanks!

Seas a mixture, by September typically good but Atlantic can be rough.
You get either pirate or frozen on cruises, it should be pirates.
Pools heated so Alaska, Iceland or Atlantic they are in use, just on cold days have a wrap robe etc asap when getting out.
Lobster is provided by DCL procurement well in advance, they agree set ports to take it on, Palo gets first choice, and MDRs typically lobster tails.
Best read recent trip reports.

We will be with you on the cruise. My guess is the lobsters you get at home may be tastier than the ones served on DCL. Be happy you have those delicious Nova Scotia lobsters available!

We have only done the EBTA, twice. We had wonderful seas both in 2013 and 2017. We’re hoping for the best. We are interested in how our bodies react to the 25 hour days, Tom in particular did not do well with the 23 hour days.

Weather can be quite a challenge. When we sailed in 2016, it got windy and cold soon after we left Ponta Delgada heading to Sydney, Nova Scotia. Also bad weather and seas for the sea day between Halifax and NY. It was impossible to do much of anything on decks 9 or 10. In 2017, a hurricane working its way up the east caused cancellation of the stops in Canada. The Magic arrived in NY a day early and served as a hotel for cruise guests for the final day and night that would have been the last sea day.
