This thread is so old! It was started BEFORE my niece became a quadraplegic at age 12. She had 2 injuries. 1. She was dropped while at cheer practice, she was a flyer, she complained of a strained neck. Later, the same day, she was practicing back handsprings on her own trampoline. Her arms gave and she landed on her head, again, hurting her neck. It wasn't until later that evening that her neck pain became severe. She had severed an artery in her spine and a blood clot had formed. This caused pressure to the spinal cord. Cutting it off from c6 to T1. She is now a quadriplegic.
So, was it the trampoline, was it the fall at cheer practice, was it a combination of the 2? We will never know.
It doesn't matter now.
Don't get a trampoline. And don't let your daughters be flyers.
