Don't know if this was already posted, but I found this on the TMZ website:

Disney Tram Crashes After Goofy Turn
Posted May 3rd 2008 5:59PM by TMZ Staff

It really wasn't a magic day at the Magic Kingdom yesterday: First, there was the suicide that TMZ reported, and -- on a completely different note -- a parking lot tram car slammed into a sign, shutting down tram service for a little while.

We've confirmed that an accident did occur, but being fairly low-speed, injuries to people were minor, though the car's lights were torn out. According to one poster on Disney nerd emporium Micechat.com, the tram may have taken an overly wide turn.

We called the Mouse House for comment, but haven't heard back. Anaheim PD says they weren't called to the scene.

Happened around the same time as the suicide apparently. I was waiting for a tram and was about to board with the kiddos when they stated that tram service was temporarily suspended. They told the people in the first loading area that were already on board the tram that they had to get off and walk to the entrance. We were told that one tram got into a minor incident and was blocking the road. They were still able to run the handicap vans though but it was still a wait for those until the road was cleared.

From walking with the crowds, no one was upset or really cared but most were just a little concerned if anyone was hurt. We heard the sirens going so we all assumed it was probably for the people who might have been hurt. Later I realized they were going to the hotel.

Glad it seemed minor.

On another note: so glad I'm not a "MiceChat Disney Nerd." :rolleyes1

Shouldn't that be a MiceChat "everything-Disney-is-doing-is-all-wrong-Walt-is-rolling-in-his-grave" nerd.

Seriously, that place is a sucking vortex of negativity. :rotfl:

"Disney nerd emporium"

So is that where we go to BUY them? Er, us (I post over there every so often).

"everything-Disney-is-doing-is-all-wrong-Walt-is-rolling-in-his-grave"...:rotfl: But you forgot a part. "everything-Disney-is-doing-is-all-wrong-Walt-is-rolling-in-his-grave" "but we buy APs and go all the time and take pictures and have some fun but still it's all wrong"

There, that's better.

I like the site for what it is, but it certainly isn't a site for trip planning!!!!!!

I totally agree. Because many of the posters either work at DLR or go there very frequently, it is a good source for the latest "news". However, sometimes the constant criticism gets to me.

Fortunately this board has much more "glass-half-full" viewpoint. I may not love everything that DLR does, but it's still a source of joy for me.

I read an article about the suicide. My parents said that DL is supposed to be the happiest place on Earth!
I am staying at the DLH in 2 weeks and requested the Wonder Tower. :scared1: Creepy!!! I asked my DFi if I should change the request even though we will be on the opposite side of the tower, but I need the peaceful waterfall view after the crazy semester I have had!

Glad that noone was seriously hurt on the tram!

Yikes, we were there yesterday and had NO idea about either!!

Both were actually on the 2nd...

It's a constant source of sensationalized rumors not "news". When the family and I started going to the park a lot after the kids were born, we met up with some of them and immediately stopped. Can't stand the constant source of negativity and comments like "if I were in charge of the park, I would ...blah blah blah.". Sorry but the kids dont' need the magic squashed by some when trying to have fun in the park.

Anyway, both the suicide and tram accident occurred roughly the same time on Friday, coincidentally.
