Hey Disers,

Im catching the train down to Disneyland from L.A while my friend is busy with an acting course so that I can catch Paint The Night Parade. Originally I was going to catch the train down on Thursday afternoon, be at the parks all day Friday then catch the train back on Saturday. I am now thinking about catching an early morning train on Friday, so I can still be at the park for rope drop (hopefully). Park hours for Disneyland are 9am-12am that day.

I've found the schedule for the Pacific Surfliner and REALLY struggled to read it initially! I think i've got it figured out but just wanted to check before I go missing my train after waking up at like 4am to catch it, haha! Am I correct in reading that there is a 6.08am train leaving L.A (Union Station) and that it is scheduled to arrive in Fullerton at 6.39am? Train number 562? I've heard that it's easier to catch a cab from Fullerton as they are usually waiting at the station, as opposed to getting of at the Anaheim Station.

Thanks! :wizard:

Why not speak with Amtrak's CSR's? to make sure of your travel. They really know their job well. I have spoken with them on numerous occasions over time and never had a problem.
As an option look into Uber or Lyft.

I've read it the same as you and it does look as if you'll get their at 6:39. However, my suggestion is definitely looking into Uber or Lyft and in that case arriving at the Anaheim station as it is closer to DL.

Not sure about the train thing, but we just used Uber to get to and fro from Motel 6 and it was a BREEZE! There are usually plenty of drivers in the area

Looks like UberX would cost you between $7 and $10 each way.

OK, two things to look at, are you planning a return trip to Union Station that night? If so, I would stick with a round trip with AMTRAK, since its last train leaves Fullerton at 11:18 PM. Train #595

Also, the train gets into Fullerton 9 minutes earlier than Anaheim, and the distances between the two stations (Anaheim and Fullerton) is minimal. IMHO, it is easier to deal with accessing things like Taxis, Uber/Lyft and Public Buses at Fullerton, than the long walk through the new, overbuilt ARTIC station.

Here is access to AMTRAK discounts.

You also have access to the Metrolink Commuter Trains, which are cheaper (but no free Wi-Fi or Food/drink car.)

Two lines serve Fullerton, while only the Orange County Line serves ARTIC, so another reason why to pick Fullerton over ARTIC for those going to Union Station and other places north of Disneyland.

Note, weekend service is different than weekday service. First is the 91/Perris line that leaves at 5:45 AM and gets to Fullerton at 6:19 AM. A 6:50 AM Orange County Line train gets to Fullerton at 7:25 AM.

On Saturday, Metrolink is a straight $10 day pass rate, it would be $8.50 one way on Friday.

And you Metrolink ticket works as a bus pass for both the OCTA and LA Metro (including the rail lines/subway).

The Brave 543 bus is great, only 5 stops to the Main pedestrian Entrance to Disneyland, and it stops right there.Takes less than 20 minutes in travel time.

As stated, an OCTA fare is $2 each way, or $4 for a day pass. Plus the OCTA pass also works on the ART System (and also an ART day Pass will work on OCTA).

If you take the Metrolink train, the bus is free. So for one person, just take the express bus.
