Trails End

WOW! First off-a 10 yr. old is an adult-that's crap! so for dinner I'm paying $24.99 for a kid who eats basically a piece of chicken, corn and ice cream?
Are they NUTS?! I think they are and I'd be nuts too if i pay those prices!:scared1:

It looks like take out increased too-please correct me if I'm wrong! It looks like my 10 yr. old (ADULT according to Disney) will be getting take out so she can get her chicken. I'm just floored!

that took the :wizard: out for my checkbook!:mad:

We'll be there during July 4th week/weekend but will only be at the water parks and bringing our dinner.;)

it's $24.99 for snails end????? Holy cow, i thought it was crap for $16....... I can't even type what I think it is for $25..... I'm going to drive by and laugh at the people eating there on 4JUL......

Like I said, go to Golden Corral, it's 1/3 the price.

To top it off-it's a buffet and YOU do the work-all they do is get your drinks and give you the heart stopping BILL!:scared1:

I was really hoping to eat a meal there during our trip in September since Hoop-Dee-Doo and Mickey's Backyard Barbecue are out of our budget

:sad2:its so sad that both these venues are out of most all camping families budget.......the food there has suffered also....:sad2:

Just to put things into perspective:

A family of 4 (2 Adults / 2 kids ages 3-9) can eat at Trails End for the following prices after May 24th: (including Holiday price increase)

Breakfast is 17.99 each adult / 10.99 child (3-9) ( $70 including tip)
Lunch is 18.99 each adult / 16.99 child (3-9) ( $85 including tip)
Dinner is 24.99 each adult / 13.99 child (3-9) ($92 including tip)

This means a typical family of 4 has to pay $250 a day to eat at TE. If your kids are over 9 years old, it's $85 for Breakfast / $ 90 for lunch / $120 for dinner. For a grand total of $300 a day. For a buffett ? Come on!!

Disney is really looking out for the consumer during these trying times huh?

Disney John,

I would ask you to rerun the numbers for me, DW, and my 3 kids with the fact that my 3 kids are all "adults" to Disney (11/14/16) but then again I think I would cry if I actually saw the total. :sad1:

I think Gatordad is on the mark about heading off-property to Golden Corral. Or heck, I'll go to the Winn Dixie on Apopka-Vineland, get a big ol' box of fried chicken, some instant loaded mashed potatoes, and a bakery cake all for maybe $5 a head total.

call a cop, you've been robbed.

I've been staying away from TE the last few years also, I can go to Red Lobster and get what I want (shrimp & steak) and the grandkids get what ever they want and its still less than half the price. When it was (only) $18 for lils my grandson sat there and ate broccloi (sp) till it came out his butt, I couldn't believe that was all he ate for $18. I can also watch the otters in the lake next to Red Lobster so thats entertainment!popcorn::

That's all. I really have nothing more to add to what Gatordad's already said.

Dupe, sorry (I don't know why I've been getting so many of these lately!)

We by-and-large avoid buffets to begin with, and though the last time we ate there it was good, we knew it wouldn't become a habit for us. Now that the prices have gone up I can't imagine we'll be going back any time soon. My wife is a pretty light eater, and I always feel like I need to eat enough to justify the cost... but at these costs, that there's a LOT of eatin'!

:santa:

Bama ED,

Your bill for your family of 5 is : (with 18% tip)

Breakfast = $106.15 (including tip)
Lunch= $112.05 (including tip)
Dinner= $147.45 (including tip)

total for 1 day = $365.65 :scared1:

Please pay your server prior to leaving!!!!!

And for that kind of cash layout we go to Ohana or Whispering Canyon. just about the same price but way better food.:cool1:

This is just at TE...think about the higher end restaurants! I have friends in the food industry that say there is a high mark up on food. Knowing the bulk Disney gets (they are paying MUCH less per piece of chicken than your local restaurant does) plus soooo many people do the DP (pay for food in advance and that money collects mega-interest for Disney). Is it me or are they making a KILLING off food alone?!?!?!?!

I can feed my family of 4 for a week for less than what one would pay for one meal (with tip of course) at TE. Good grief!

We already made out plan to include Golden Corral for breakfast buffet and our "Italian night" is going to be Ci-Cis. Both of these days are our "free" days so we don't have to rush anyplace. Rest of meals at camper. Used to love TE for breakfast, but not at the current prices when I usually only had a biscuit and bowl of oatmeal! I was really happy looking on Mapquest and finding so many places to eat so close to FW--who knew :goodvibes

In the past, on average ,we dined at Disney sit down restaurants once every 4 days. Last winter the quality had declined and the prices had risen so much we only dined at Disney twice. Once at Biergarten(excellent still) and TE. While refilling our mugs every evening we would smell the tantalizing aroma coming from TE. Eventually we just had to have us some ribs & chicken. Unfortunately the actual food was blah at best. This coming winter will find us eating off property when we want to dine out. Now, Disney does have some of the best JUNK FOOD. Mmmm I'm dreaming of Mickey bars, hot pretzels and banana splits from DTD.

One thing I noticedlast week was that a lot of people were bringing in snacks and food to the parks - it was very, very noticable. Prices have gotten way too high.
