Going to DW next month, would like to know how the food is at the Trail's End Resturant buffets are? Thanks for any information.

We love it! We eat there at least twice every trip - once for breakfast and once for dinner! ::yes::

Mmmmmmmm - yummy - I love Trail's End and it is one of the best bargains on property. I love the corn bread here and the chili is also very good. Makes me hungry just thinkin about it!

We ate there for the first time in May and loved it. The food was extremely good, especially the fried chicken and corn and the service was great. There was also a lot of fruit available which we really enjoyed. After the buffet we went over to the campfire and the movie. It was one of our favourite nights of the trip. We are going back in August and we will definately do this again.

We LOVE it there. All three meals are great. Breakfast is a really great deal. Dinner and Lunch are really pretty good deals too for WDW . WE find the food delicious, but the whole place is just so friendly and warm. It's a quick boat ride from the MK. WE love the WL and that makes lots of meals at the Trails End easy.

Another one of our favorite places too!

FYI - the breakfast buffet is awesome, plenty of choices including Mickey waffles, breakfast pizza, the usual(eggs, sausage, etc) and a huge donut bar.

Also at dinner the fried chicken and the ribs are the same food as served at HoopDeeDo.

Awesome! Ate dinner there last September and it was easily one of the best meals for the vacation. I loved the cornbread with the cinnamon/sugar butter!! It was also one of the most reasonably priced buffets we've ever found at WDW. Bill for our party of 5 was approx. $65! There was plenty of food to choose from and even our picky eaters found lots to munch on!!

I can't wait to get their myself, I have never tried it in all my trips to WDW, but fried chicken is my favorite food so I have to check it out. I also want to bring my nieces to the pony rides and petting zoo. Does anyone know? Are these 2 things pretty good?

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Trails End!!! We've only done breakfast, and we always eat there on our MK day. It just makes sense! LOL

The food is great, atmosphere is relaxing, service is friendly and the value can't be beat!!!

Two thumbs up from our family!!!:bounce:

I've heard this place is just awesome. I have a problem though. How to you get there from MK? I've looked all over the place and there is no easy way to get there. We're staying at the All-stars. Was going to go after MK?

We usually get up early, take our resort bus to the MK, then take the boat over to FW. The boat landing is a hop, skip and a jump from the Trails End. Then we just hop the boat back to the MK and start our day!

We like doing breakfast first because we like a large breakfast, a snack for lunch, and then a nice dinner. It works for us.

If you do try breakfast, try the donuts...OMG, they are soooo good! I'm not a donut eater usually because I can't afford all of the fat and calories (and carbs), but on vacation, I just can't resist. They make them fresh right there every morning....to die for!!!

I've only eaten at Trail's End once, but our whole group really enjoyed it. Lots of choices and good food! We thought it was a great value for a WDW buffet. Hope to go back there sometime soon.

Disneyof3, I THINK that you take the boat from MK to Fort Wilderness. From the boat dock I THINK that Trail's End is within walking distance. (I'm not totally sure of this, because we had a car and drove ourselves. But it seems like that's what I've read other times around here.) Hopefully someone else will chime in to confirm or correct what I guessed. :D

Oops. I see that marcyinPA and I posted at the same time. Glad to see that she was able to tell you for sure about the boat. :D

Would someone be kind enough to post how you would get to Trail's End from WL - we could go either by car/bus or is it within walking distance? Also, if you take the boat does it go clockwise or counter clockwise from WL?

Thanks a bunch, sounds too good to miss!

Pea-n-Me, my husband and I went from WL to Trail's End in June, via the boat. It was in the morning, and the boat route was WL-FW-MK, so it was a direct trip for us. I believe sometime in the afternoon it switches so it goes FW-WL-MK, but I'm not sure what time of day this happens at. Anyone know this?

The walk is about 1.5 or 2 miles, I believe, which is walking distance I suppose, depending on how far you'd like to walk. :)
I would recommend the boat over the bus, since I think you might have to change buses within the Campground. Not 100% sure about that though.

Definitely go, though. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent prices. I can't wait to go back. :)

Getting to Trail's End by car is really easy too. You just park in the main lot, and then catch the internal bus to the restaurant. It was very easy and I enjoyed the ride through the campground to check it all out. There are 3 internal busses, and all of them (I believe) end up at Trail's End eventually.....there is one though (yellow line??) that is a more direct route.

Thank You! :flower3:

Will try Trails End in about a month! :Pinkbounc

We are planning to have breakfast at Trail's End next month. After reading all of the beaming posts I think we might have to squeeze in a dinner as well. Looks like a great value for our group of 6.

Thank you everyone for your input. Will be calling today to make PS for breakfast and dinner for our trip next month. Can't wait to try the food it sounds yummy!

My DH and I ate there this past Sunday night. We had about a 30 mintue wait, and sat in the rocking chairs outside of Crockett's Tavern. It was nice just sitting and rocking. They don't take PS's Melmeg, you need to just show up. The food was really good. My DH and I would go back again. Our server was great, his name was Bob, and he was very "punny". We took the boat over from MK, and it was a really nice ride. We were able to catch the electic light parade on the Lagoon, so that was neat too.
