Can you use, say 4 CS credits and get the Giddy up and Go?

Is there anything on the to-go menu that you can use CS credits for?

No, you can't.

Here's a photo of the Trail's End take-out menu:

There is a Disney Dining Plan symbol next to the Side Salad.

Otherwise, no Dining Plan for Trail's End take out.

Total bummer, dude.

Only thing I don't like about FW... no CS restaurant. We always do DDP... I don't cook at Disney. I just can't bring myself to do it! To me it is just "budgeting" up front for our meals, I know there is probably little or no savings, but that is fine with me.

No, it's not a bummer.

It's a good thing.

Pay cash for your Giddyap and Go, and use your credits for another meal.

I guarantee that the Giddyap and Go will feed your family of four, and you will have leftovers.

Those CS credits are probably worth about ten bucks a piece, right?

Well, save them and use them somewhere else, and enjoy the savings at Trail's End.

So how many buscuits do you get with the Giddyap and Go....Is it really just one like the menu says?

Unless something's changed recently, you can use DDP CS credits at Meadows Snack bar - when it's open.

Whenever we've done DDP staying at the Fort we usually hop the boat over to Roaring Forks at WL for CS. It's a bit of a trek, but a nice one and the food there is good and plentiful. One of those mondo sandwiches can feed 2 people!

So... TCD...

you have a picture of the Meadow's menu too?? :goodvibes

There is a photo of the Meadows Pool Snack Bar on one of the last pages of Picture of the Day thread. It is above a picture of the lifeguard at the pool in December.

Yes. You just get one biscuit. But they give you a plastic knife, and you can cut it into as many pieces as you like. :rotfl2:

No, really, you will get at least four biscuits. For some reason, we often get five. But, if you order cornbread, you won't get any. But, you will get four or five pieces of cornbread.

I am not kidding- it's a lot of food!

Admittedly, not the best photo, but I think you can read it. Maybe try squinting and moving back from your monitor a bit?

There is?

But, of course, SimbaKY took it!

And, it is a bit better than mine.

That's not saying much:

I just noticed that those danged bean-counters already raised the prices!

My photo is from 4/09, when the Meadow Snack Bar first re-opened after the pool remodel.

SimbaKY's is from December.

They always have to stick it to us campers, don't they?

Yes, but this bean-counter is here to tell you that the Southern Smothered Hot Dog is worth every one of the 809 pennies it takes to buy it. I wouldn't suggest riding Tower of Terror afterward...but it is tasty! And BIG. And I bet the leftovers would make good bait for fishing!

But, I notice that several of the items on the menu have DDP icons next to them. Am I to understand that they are offering up carrots and celery in exchange for one snack credit?? At the Fort??

Good luck with that. Or maybe it's to feed the wildlife.

So, the question is, over there where is says "entree" are you able to use a CS credit for those? Anyone done it?

:)JE

Well interestingly enough, TCD's photo from 4/09, the sandwiches and hot dog had a DDP icon next to them - presumably they counted as CS meals?

BUT in the photo from December, those icons are missing and only the snack items are showing DDP.

:confused3

Maybe I'm missing it, but I don't see the symbols beside anything other than snacks or drinks in either photo. I do notice, however, that Disney apparently reversed the menu boards after the refurb.

Both of those photos were after the pool renovation.

The Meadow Snack Bar menu used to be much more limited, and the place was seldom open.

The changes to the snack bar were supposedly made to address complaints from guests about the lack of Dining Plan options at the Fort.

Here is a link to a post from April, 2009, with some photos of notices posted around the Fort relating to the changes being made (the references to April 9 are to April 9, 2009):

Changes to Meadow Snack Bar menu

You have asked a good question, and I wish I could give you a definite answer.

I have always assumed that the entrees on the new menu were eligible for Dining Plan use. But, I have never used the Dining Plan, so I can't confirm that.

In the FAQ section of the Directory of Service provided to guests at check in, it states that the Meadow Snack Bar and the Roaring Fork (at WL) are the nearest locations to use Quick Service Credits from the Disney Dining Plan, and that for more information guests should consult their Dining Plan Guide.

The bottom line is that the Fort is not a convenient place to use the Disney Dining Plan.

TCD

I appreciate everyone's help on this one. We will be persuing this on our December trip, so when I come back I will have definitive answers.

Ya'll rock by the way!:cool2:

you mean to tell me they took the gigantic pretzel off the menu?
that was the best value on the menu.
