Our service was friendly but not consistant. (Where is that server to bring creamer or more hot water??) Other than that--we all vote this as our favorite breakfast.

First of all, lots more donuts (Krispy Kreme??) this year on the buffet which makes the kiddos happy. The potato wedges with grilled onions are awesome! The omelette casseroles are wonderful! I always enjoy that French toast that's rolled in cinnamon sugar and then I put the strawberry sauce from the fruit bar on it!! MMMMM! The gravy for the biscuits and gravy is the best of the best. (We stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way home and their gravy isn't even close!) The fresh fruit was nice and ripe. We always get the hot tea or coffee that is included in the price and even the kids like that. Can't beat that comfortable atmosphere out there in FW, either.

As always, we will return!

What a great way to open an vacation! My kids say they always want to kick off our vacation at WDW with dinner at Kona from now on.

We started with Sticky Wings (two orders)! They are superb. We ordered the Pan Asian Pasta for two of us to share. This was our least favorite entree. It tasted to us like a glorified, fancy version of teriyaki pasta mixes you can get in the frozen section of Sam's. We also ordered the Beef Tenderloin for another two people to share. (Actually, the four of us really shared two entrees which is all we needed after two orders of wings and dessert coming). This was much better! There was a nice steak, delicious potato gratin and sauteed spinach to complete the meal. We would order this again.

I must mention the pressed pot of Kona coffee that DH ordered. He inhaled it. It was even better than the Kona coffee he has stopped to pick up on our way to the MK most mornings over the years. He wants a pressed pot for Father's Day now! He says it's the best coffee he's ever had. That's saying a lot! (He used to work in Seattle and Portland!)

My second favorite dessert was at Kona. The Caramel-Banana Creme Brulee was heavenly! The sugar crust was not torched to a crisp the way I usually like it but the flavor underneath more than made up for that! A couple of the guys ordered the Kilauea Torte and were moaning and sighing with each bite. ;) The 16 year old has his usual cheesecake--I think in this case it was a white chocolate one. He was very pleased! If you've never ordered your young kids the kiddie cone here you should consider doing so. It is the cutest thing! My kids say it was their favorite kid's dessert all vacation long. There is even blue cotton candy surrounding the cone.

We'll go back and DH will probably order two pots of coffee next time. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I don't know what I did that these two separate threads ended up together?! But, I did just edit the title a bit. Sorry for the confusion!

it was a mistake for me to read this during breakfast time. I think I'm going to make myself some french toast now.

Well, these are two places I must go to after reading your reviews. But, I think I will have to hit the Kona Cafe for breakfast, I've heard to many good things about Tonga Toast.

By the way does Trail's End get busy in the morning? Also what time do they start serving breakfast?

Thanks, Great Reviews

at the risk of sounding stupid, what is a press pot?

Usually, Trail's End opens around 7:30 am, I think. Check when you arrive to make sure that hasn't changed for the time of year you're there. I'm sure the crowds will depend on the season. It's never been very crowded when we're there.

Denise,
I'm no expert--but I think the press pot is another way of perculating coffee. They actually bring the pot to your table that the coffee is being pressed in. Oh, boy...I'm sure I slaughtered that description! Maybe a real coffee expert can answer better than me.

We love Trail's End for breakfast also. :p

Anyone ever had Ken for their server? I think he is the happiest CM in all of WDW. We love having him!! :)

I agree the kids cones at the Kona are great. One of these days I will get to try the Kilauea Torte and sticky wings. The Caramel-Banana creme brulee sounds great!

What's the cost at Trail's End?

Very reasonable. When we were there in April I think it was $7.95 or $8.95 for adults & either $5.95 or $6.95 for children. It includes, coffee, tea & this time it included our milk & juices.

I really think it's the best value in WDW for meals.
