Trails End... is ADR necessary?

We made an ADR for trails end on the evening of the day we arrive in Orlando (about 6-9 hours after we should arrive in MCO)... it is late on a Sunday night.

I am wondering if the ADR is necessary, because I worry that something may happen and flights could be delayed, and I wouldn't know by midnight the night before (to avoid no show penalty).

How easy is it to walk into Trails End om a Sunday evening 7pm or 8pm.... do I need my ADR, or should we just show up and try to eat?

I personally don't think you need one (of course I'm sure it depends on crowd levels) but we made one the night of when we were at MK one night last December. It was our first trip with a baby so we made minimal ADRs in advance and would just go with the flow and pick from what was available at the time we wanted that night. It seemed like Trail's End usually had several times available each night.

Where are you staying? If you are close by (Ft. W, CR or WL), sure, you could attempt a walk-up (we walked up for lunch one day), but it's never guaranteed. Personally, I would cancel the ADR now and then check the MDE app for another ADR when you land. Then you will know for sure if you will make it or not.
This sounds like your best plan to avoid hassle and CC charges!

Staying at an all-star but spending afternoon/evening at Disney springs.

For TE, you can usually get an ADR day of pretty well. I do a lot of last minute ADRs and TE usually comes up with availability. So, if you decide once you are there that you do want to eat at TE, I would just book the ADR on your way to the restaurant.
