We're interested in checking this out on our first night (there will be EMH at MK and we'll just take the boat over).

Has anyone been recently, and how was your experience?

Hi
I enjoyed this place it had great food and very friendly staff, I am hoping to go back there on my holiday in August.

It is one of our family favorites. When someone comes to visit from out of town we take them there.

Its relatively inexpensive. I did not like it very much myself. I know others in our party were big fans but very disappointed

Unless you are taking a boat from MK, it is easily the most difficult reaturant to get to

We were there in November and really enjoyed it. Nice selection on the buffet (peel n eat shrimp, salads, fried chicken, carving station, assortment of sides and desserts), we were not rushed. Nothing fancy at all but we did enjoy it. While you are over there, you can also take a short walk over by the bus stop area. The stables where they keep the horses that are used in the parades and in MK plus corrals with Shetland ponies are back there.

This was our arrival day dinner as well for our Nov 09 trip. We were staying at WL so it was a quick easy ride to get to eat and we did not go to a park on arrival day. We really enjoyed it and it was relatively inexpensive. I thought the food was very good and it was a nice relaxing meal after a full day of traveling. There was a great playground right next to the restaurant for my kids to get some of their travel day energy out. I would go back again for sure, especially for arrival day. Have a great trip!:goodvibes

I agree, very time consuming to get here! It a journey!LOL
The food wasn't awful, just standard. Nothing special for all that travel! We will not go back.

It's the most unpretentious restaurant in all of WDW, but it has some very decent food offerings (in fact, its salmon dish is better than most other WDW restaurants). Also, the adjacent Crockett Tavern had a facelift last year: new furniture, updated Davy Crockett displays and a satisfactory bar. We have dined multiple times at V&A and still enjoy dining at Trails End/Crockett Tavern.

The food isn't going to knock your socks off, but it is really good, and the prices are very low compared to some of the other offerings around here.

I always time my dinner around dusk just as all the lights are coming on, and it's quite relaxing to sit on the porch waiting for your table to be ready.

The variety of foods are enough to satisfy even the pickiest if eaters, and the desserts they offer are usually a nice way to top off the meal.

I have never found it hard to get there. You can go to the Fort Wilderness Lodge and then take the boat over, and they also have busses, as well.
