Did anyone ever go there? I was just on www.allears.net and saw that they have the least expensive all-you-can-eat buffets, $10.99 for adults (breakfast and lunch) and $16.99 for dinner! Any reviews/feedback?

I ate lunch there some day last Spring. It was good for buffet style. Nor convenient to get to. But worth it if you have the time to kill or in the area anyway.

:flower1: DW and I ate lunch there just last week. We thought it was really good and a great bargain. The fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had. Any specific questions we can help you with, just ask away.

We've eaten breakfast there a couple of times. It's very good and a great value.

We love Trail's End! It's one of Disney's best kept secrets!

They serve all three meals, at pretty reasonable prices! There is hardly ever a wait to get in! It's easy to get to - just a short boat ride from the Magic Kingdom! :boat:

give it a thumbs up! The food was excellent and the price very reasonable. The atmosphere is sort of American West Picnic or something which is very relaxed. My DW has a food allergy and cannot eat food items containing wheat (flour, etc). The chef made her a special serving of fried chicken that she claims was delicious. It's worth giving this place a try! :cool1:

We ate dinner there during our last Christmas visit. We love buffets and found this one satisfying. The food was tasty and fresh, although not alot of choices. There did seem to be quite a few wild game selections that we didn't try, and the dessert bar was limited. Our next trip we'd like to try their breakfast. Our server was terrific! Our all-time favorite is Boma for breakfast or dinner. ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo

We had lunch there last summer. We spent the morning in the Magic Kingdom and then took the boat over . It was very reasonably priced and can be described as "hearty". Believe me, it is certainly not fancy but we enjoyed trying something different.

Rhonda is correct - it is the best kept dining secret at WDW. An even better secret (mostly for those who stay at FW) is that they allow take-out - they'll give you a huge container for food, another huge one for salad.

I'm planning on going there on my short trip next week - if you are already at the MK, it's not terribly out of the way. The food is basic but yummy from what I remember - which is what I like. I'll be back next Thursday, I'll have to share my thoughts then. :)

This is one of our favorite places too, but be aware that there are not alot of choices. The standard for lunch is soup and salad and fried chicken, pizza and mac and cheese. Then they vary with a couple of others on a daily basis, sloppy joes one day, maybe barbeque the next day, alway one vegetable (corn or greenbeans or a combination). Also usually sometype of sandwich. So if you have picky eaters, you might want to be aware of the menu first. (However, dinner is usually the same with ribs added and peel and eat shrimp). This is not a quick place to eat, it takes time to get over there and time to get back.

I think we are going to give this a try this trip. Maybe Sunday Breakfast.

We went for dinner last October and it was wonderful. Best meal of the trip. Some of group went back a few days later because it was so good. I would like to try going lunch or breakfast on our next trip.

I agree - One of Disney's best kept secrets - But I think Fort Wilderness as a whole is a Best Kept Secret. It's such a wonderful resort, such a great value & so often overlooked.....

if you time it right( not at park closing in other words) it is only maybe a 10-15 min trip via boat from MK..they stop at wilderness lodge first and last time waited for all the stragglers( like maybe for 5-10 mins) that were going to FW from there so it was 15 min. just count on taking a jacket if it is winter as it gets cold on the boat sometimes...you can also take a boat from the contemp. but i don't think it runs as often but might be more convenient if coming from epcot via monorail. or a bus to Fw from any of the parks...we find it no less convenient than to get to any other resort from any other resort but would not take our own car to get there as you would need to take the internal bus if you did from the parking area...we always go to trail's end at least once and find the food just as good but not quite as much variety as at any other wdw buffet for much less money. and the setting is great, lots to do different than most other resorts...more outdoorsy

My wife also loved the chili and corn bread.

We have gone there at least once on every trip - staying at FW makes it even easier. The food has always been good.

We ate there for lunch once and really enjoyed it. Teenagers at an all you can eat with chicken, ribs, etc....doesn't get much better for them. Our server was fabulous and joked with us the whole time. When DS1 mentioned his obsession with cereal, he came right back with a huge bowl....just a little thing, but it cracked us all up. We tired to get in on Thanksgiving Day, but no luck.

Also, I've heard (can't confirm!) that the chicken and barbeque and possibly other offerering at Trail's End are the exact same as that served at Hoop De Doo. Lots cheaper!

Try the chili, supurb fried chicken and soup!!!We like to sit on the porch and rock while waiting for the restaurant to open. I noticed cast members from other places were eating there.

My dd and I went there for lunch last summer during our day at MK. NO PS, no lines.

We took the boat ride over and enjoyed lunch (10% off with AP voucher M-F lunch). They offered crayons and coloring sheets to the kids, who proudly hung up their artwork around the restaurant.

After lunch, my dd played in the playground with some kids while I rocked in a rocking chair on the porch. Some kids played in the arcade behind me. My dd napped on the boat ride back.

It's definitely not convenient but it was a nice alternative to leaving the park to go back to our off site hotel. We felt refreshed when we got back to MK.
