Traffic, travel time from/to LAX

Hello! About how long is the drive? We would be coming in Wednesday at 9:00pm and leaving 6:00am Sunday. We have heard everything from 45 min-3 hours. TIA!

You can never say in LA but given the times of your arrival/departure I would think that it won't take more than an hour at the most (if there is no rain, accident, etc.).

Travel times from LAX are never consistent. I'd expect 45min to an hour, but I know that there's a lot of construction going on with several of the freeways. Some have multiple lanes or sometimes entire stretches of freeway are closed overnight - usually starting around 9pm. Check the CalTrans website to see about closures before you leave so you don't get any surprises. It won't let me post the URL here but you can Google the site.

We just came back and it was about 45 minutes each way (around 9 am leaving the airport on a Friday and coming back around 2 pm on a Monday afternoon).

As others have stated, 9pm on Wed. or 6am on Sunday should have very little traffic. It should take 45 minutes. But, anything is possible in LAX. Check with local traffic, google maps traffic etc. for current conditions. There are several routes to take in case theres an accident on one of the freeways.

I agree with Huff and the other posters here. At those times, you shouldn't run into too much traffic. Wednesday evening *might* have some residual traffic if there was an accident earlier. But the freeways should be pretty smooth by then. And early Sunday morning should be a piece of cake, with the only caveat being accidents. But even with an accident, there are so few cars out at that time, you should be okay with a 40-45 minute drive on a Sunday morning.

Do you mean 2/15 ? Obama is arriving at LAX around 3:30 tom'w, so there will be delays and some street closures as he fundraises around Orange County and Beverly Hills.
