traffic from HRH to airport

I've heard that traffic can be pretty bad on a Friday around 5:00 pm. Does anyone know how long it should take to get from Hard Rock Hotel to Orlando airport if we are leaving the hotel around 5:00 - 5:30 pm? Flight is at 7:45 pm.

you should really be at the airport ATLEAST 2 hours before your flight! It takes forever to get your bags checked and get through security! We use skycap, and it STILL takes forever! lol. If I were you, I would leave the HRH no later than 4:30, just to be on the safe side. Its a 20-30 min drive to the airport from HRH.

Have you ever been to MCO? It is pretty big.

I'd leave at least 45 mins to get to the airport from Universal. Take I-4 West to the Beachline (528) East. The stretch on I-4 to the Beachline may be a little backed up, but the Beachline typically moves pretty well. But the minute you dont leave enough time is the minute you will need more time. I would leave your hotel around 4:30 or so. Better to be early than late. Hope this helps!

So for a 4:00pm flight we should leave HRH at 1:00pm? Is 1:30 pushing it? We need to make a reservation wtih a car service, I need to tell them what time to pick us up. TIA

I would say 1:15-1:30 would be ok...maybe a little closer to 1:15. What day are you leaving? Traffic SHOULDNT be a problem in the middle of the day regardless of what day you leave, but you never know for sure. I'd say you'd be fine leaving between 1:15-1:30.
