Traditional Discounts in March?

I am much more familiar with the WDW forums, where people generally know which discounts are offered at which time of the year.

I was thinking of going to DL early March in 2013. I don't think this is spring break time yet (correct me if I'm wrong). I would really like to do a night or 2 at the Disneyland Hotel for my birthday, and I was just wondering if room discounts ever come out for that time period.

We stayed at the GCH this year March 1-4 (Thursday - Sunday). Looking back at my rates, it looks like there was a 25% discount for Thursday night but it looks to be around regular price for the weekend. On the plus side, we did get upgraded to a theme park view from a standard view. This year there was also a promotion for stay three nights, get one free for a limited time at the very beginning of March (may have been only that weekend) - unfortunately I didn't have an extra night to stay because my kids had school!

Since Carsland opened, it looks as though DCA is seeing record attendance, and the hotels appear to be selling out earlier than usual. There are no summer discounts (as of yet, though usually by now they would have been offered if there were any), so it remains to be seen whether we'll see the usual discounts in the coming months. It will definitely help if you are going in very early March, as that is usually still considered low season.

ETA - the early March discounts came out in mid-late January this year.

Thanks so much! Yes, my birthday is March 2 (unfortunately a Saturday this year). I was thinking of trying to do my birthday night at DLH and then hopefully get some retro rates for HOJO for the rest of the stay.

I much preferred DL on the weekdays during my last (and only) trip, so we were going to spend Saturday March 2nd driving up from San Diego, arrive at hotel at check in, check out the pool depending on the weather and DD, then head to Trader Sam's

But if they offer another stay 2 nights get one free deal, this could change things.
