We sail this weekend. My son is still scared to hug characters in the parks, so we'll see if he becomes more amenable to it over the cruise.

It's not till the 29th fleet wide but right now it's happening on the Dream.

One could definitely interpret it that way . For you I hope they are back...We missed WDW traditional M&G by 7 days in the spring but we will get this one on the cruise for 9/5. My wife is ecstatic and said "don't bother the 45 year old woman ugly crying"

I think that is the way it's happening. I have friends on both the Wish and the Wonder this week and they have both reported today that there are still no character hugs or autographs.

Anyone with an upcoming sailing, have you received any notification about this? Curious because some people had mentioned getting notifications about their sailing in September that was going to be distanced.

Yes, if you look at Molly's IG stories (formerly of All Ears) you can see her arm in arm with Goofy. Her IG is mammoth club or something similar.
