Toying with the idea of trading to Aruba or somewhere else tropical in May of 2010.
Can anyone offer any help as to what to look for in a resort to attempt to trade to and how this all works?
RCI lists several resorts on the island to trade to, so how do you chose which one is better than the others?

Thank you for any assistance that can be lent :)

The basic process is you investigate the resorts and then tell them which resorts, dates and unit size you want/need. You then pay the $95 fee which is non refundable if they find what you want but if you cancel without a match or don't find what you want, you get the fee back. For Aruba there are currently 9 resorts on the list. IMO, none are up to DVC's standards but of those, I'd list only Costa Linda and Playa Linda on my A list with Casa Del Mar as a maybe. I would not personally do the All Inclusive at the Occidental partly because of price ($154 per adult/day) and partly because I find AI's in a location with good to great restaurants like Aruba as such a waste.

There are a few other options I'd consider like Windjammer, Morritt's Grand or possibly the Melia resorts PR. The one AI I'd consider would be Sandal's Jaimaica though I think it's adult only.

The two St. Martin/Marteen options are good but not great options. Also, the Cruise club options are interesting but not down my alley. One who was so inclined might give those a shot.
