I agree with this 100%

If there is a mistruth in a thread it can be corrected, but worth is not something you can prove. You keep opinions out of trade threads. I delete them whenever I notice them. Report them if it happens to you (you meaning anyone)

well your reputation is all you have, nobody will trade you if you dont have a rep, so you should care about that.

2. i think you are allowed to pull out when the person hasnt accepted.
3. i dont over inflate offers. just 1 person's opinion. what might be over inflation to one person might be under inflation to another.

1. If these were 'way in the past' try getting over it. There should be no rant about it if it's not something recent.
2. Agreed. You are also allowed to pull out of a trade any time before clicking that final "accept" button on vmk. Nobody should feel they have to honor an offer if it doesn't feel right to them. If it happens more than once, don't continue trading with that person.
3. True. Values are subjective. What you consider fair may not be close to what I consider fair.

autowin = automatically win this item if you offer requested

If you offer an autowin, please honor it.

I agree and this issue has been addressed before. I personally don't offer autowins, although I have made an autowin offer on another trader's autowins which was not honored. I will never trade with him again and he has long since been banned from this site. Probably vmk as well.
When an autowin has not been honored, send a pm to the mods so they can keep track of them. I know Aengus is just itching to ban someone, aren't you, Lava Boi? heh

I will only trade with honest traders. If you have a poor reputation, you either won't get any offers or you will only get poor offers. Your choice.

I think most of us have had some postive trades and some more challenging ones both on Dis and in VMK. Personally, I try to focus on the positive.

Like, if someone doesn't honor their posted auto win...I will positively never trade with them again and will tell whoever will listen. Thats the kind of positive your talking about right? I would say you can learn a lot watching trades. There are for sure some people that trade I tend to avoid and recomend against, Which goes to show you reputation is all you have when it comes to trading here. (to add souper is a good trader )

exactly. If anything happens during the trade, like all of a sudden its a different offer. Than I also make note, and wont offer in those threads anymore as well.

I don't usually like to put on auto-wins because of this
If i did it would probably be "over inflated" so I would be getting a good deal if somebody offered it..
That way I won't feel that bad if somebody offered more than it (which is not likely)

I agree that if you set an autowin it means just that and you should accept the first person to offer. Alot of ppl will go on a rant about certain events and what not being fair on vmk, but really if we want fairness shouldn't we all practice fairness too?

I also think it says something about someones trade ethic if they make an auto win that is ridiculous and way beyond what an item is worth.

Example: A Pin that is worth maybe 25 grand and the autowin set at items worth 60-70 grand. That just seems shady and I know everyone values items differently but not everyone knows what items are worth especially littler kids. Thats when they realize they had made a terrible trade and feel scammed..

Why, in the Trading sections, must it be conducted like stupid Ebay?
I think it should be a sort of "offer the autowin or stay away" type of thing.
I have experienced (possibly too many times) my offer being considered.
As the person is about to accept, some random LOSER comes around and offers my offer plus like a little other crap.
I lose out all the time, and it's never all the other way around for me.
Even if the person says their considering two offers, more often than not (if im one of the people), while i am out leading a normal life, some other VMK zombie comes out and beats me to it.

Another rant about this Ebay thing is that sometimes people offer way too much.
If your going to put up an auto win, accept it right away.
I have seen people accept the auto win, but then some oblivious bloke comes along and offers HIGHER THAN THE AUTO WIN.
Dont let greed take over, accept the first person who posts the auto win.

Calling people names probably isn't going to make people want to trade with you either.
