Trading Points between Use Years

I banked Aug 2016 use year points. Now they are in Aug 2017 use year. So that means I have to use the 2016 pts before Aug 1 2018 or I am going to loose the points. Problem is my family is not planning to go to End of Aug 2018. I was wondering has anyone ever traded points with someone else to get the next year points? Is it possible to trade with someone who wants to go before Aug 1 2017 and in return get pts for after AUG 1? Hope that makes sense. Any advice on how to do that would be greatly appreciated

Banked points cannot be transferred. So you would have to make a reservation for the other member while they would be transferring points to you. This would take a great deal of trust on the part of the person transferring their points to you.

Personally, I would look to just rent the banked points. Then maybe look for a member who has points for transfer that you could use for your Aug. 2018 reservation or just borrow from your 2019 UY.

It's possible to do what you propose - you would be making a reservation for someone else with your banked points. (Banked points cannot be transferred). The other party would then either make a reservation for you or transfer points into your account that would be valid for the dates you want to visit. It's would be quite a challenge finding someone who wants a reservation that will cost the same number of points as the one you want to make. You would almost certainly end up arranging additional compensation to make the trade happen.

IMO, it will be nearly impossible to find someone willing to do it unless you are willing to pay a significant premium. There is virtually no benefit for someone else to do this for you (without extra compensation beyond the number of points you need) as they could easily just make the reservation they want with their own points. IMO, this type of trade carries more risk to both parties than straight rental(s) Personally, I would only do something like this for family or a very good friend (and then, only reluctantly).
