I am a grown, but not so mature, adult, I have no children, and I am addicted to these stupid pins.
CAUTION! It is easy to spend a fortune on them. So, unless you have an unlimited budget, here are a couple of suggestions... One, pick a "theme." I am a big Tigger fan, so I try to stick to those. Course when I bought all the ones available, I found another "theme." Then another, then another, then another!!!! AHHH!
I have heard from parents that they set guidelines such as letting your child buy one per day ir giving them a set amount of $ they carry & when they've spent it all that's it.
Just remember, pins are EVERYWHERE, and all stores do NOT carry the same pins. The biggest pin store is in DTD. Epcot has a good one up front, behind Spaceship Earth.
As far as the lanyard, that's up to you, but I agree, it can be a pain. I've seen people put them on hats & fanny packs. The biggest reason to display, besides showing off

is to let people know what you have to trade. The other reason to carry them around is so you have something to trade when you see one you want from someone else.
I usually don't have mine with me because most of the ones I have I intend to keep. So what I do is offer to buy something for the person I'm trading with, and let them pick it out. I've never had someone say no. People are usually very friendly.
There's a lot more to it, but I don't want to make your head spin before you even start. It really is a lot of fun & I hope this helps! :thewave:
