trading pages

DD and I went to our LSS this week and they had a trading pages night. There were about 8 ladies there and we swapped pictures and had a blast. I 2 pages I got back were great. At first I was nervous so I gave them pics I was not sorry to miss if they were bad, but I love them. The lady who scrapped them has the same style as me so no one would even think I did not do them.

DD received pics from the lady who works at the store and has samples all over the place. She was very nervous that her work would not be up to her quality. DD is 12 1/2 but has a good eye for color and I helped her cut and mat things so they were neat.

We had a great time and suggested they do it on a quarterly basis. Maybe this is something you all should ask you LSS's to try.

Sounds like y'all had a lot of fun. I would have been nervous, too, if I'd received the pics from someone that worked in the store. But I'm sure your DD did a great job.

We did a Trading Pages her on the DIS last spring. It was great fun working with someone else's photos and getting pages back that I would have never thought to do myself. Sounds like fun! I have read about swaps of this type on different message boards. It is a great idea..just be sure to keep a second set of the pics "just in case"!!

Thanks. Actually I cut a mat from the photo. But if I did it again, your way sounds easier.

I was part of that trade last spring and it was wonderful.

Not only did I have a totally different set of things to work on but the pages I received back were totally DIFFERENT from what I would have done. I was inspired and delighted to have a "break" in style.

Would love to do this again.

Hey WDW Mom - here's a thought since you're so close to me. My GS troop has decided we are going to do a scrapping night once a month. They did frame a pages in scrapbook style in Dec. for the Home Improvement IPP. Now they are all set to get into this. If you're interested email me and maybe we can work out something either to trade pages or have a joint meeting if you have others into this activity!

THanks! I was actually thinking that we should have another round of this! Anyone else interested? I am leaving for WDW on THursday, but can organize when I return.....

BTW - Robin, I still have some of that paper backed fabric if you would like it, if you have additional pages to complete for the wedding......

I love doing Trading Pages. I'd love to do it again, but right now I'm focusing my time and energy to CKU projects. Once I get back - March 7 - I'll be all revved to go though. So if the timing works for me I'll definitely join in.

Hey poohbear! I am in if you do it again I love your pages and I love what Robin did too - I have a lot of leaf photos and it just gave me some great ideas.

Castlegazer - I though I saw your countdown was just changed and not cancelled! I am sorry we wont catch up with eachother at WDW, but we can catch up when I get back! I am glad you decided to go! You guys have earned a break away this year!

Well ladies, when I return next week, I'll start a thread for sign-up for Trading Pages! Until then, I have to pack and get the house ready for the dog sitter! Our flight is at 7 am Thursday and that's at least an hour drive! Ugh, what was I thinking?
