Trading out with II ??

I would like to go to Curacao next summer and dive. It's available on the world passport ( I'd love to stay at The Royal Sea Aquarium )

How exactly does it work?

I'm pretty flexable with dates...Do I call and see what they have available ( if anything?) or do I give a three week window and that's it?

At what point does the fee ( $95) get paid? What happens if your waitlist doesn't come through? Do you get the fee back? How long do you waitlist (thinking of airfare to the Duch Antilles last minute )

Any info would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how far in advance those units can be deposited. The Royal Resorts in Cancun can be given to II as early as 2 years out. I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope of getting a unit there but it never hurts to try. If you're limited to summer when school is out that is likely not flexible enough to be successful. If you can travel May to early June or late August/Sept; you're chances of success will be much better. The process is you call DVC and tell them which resort(s) you'll take (use the resort codes), the unit size you want and the dates that are OK. You pay the fee at that time. If something is available, you get it then, if not, they put in an ongoing search. The $95 fee would be refunded if you don't match or cancel before a match.
