I searched and can't find any recent threads on this subject. Does anyone have recent experience trading into a resort on Kaanapali or in Honokowai using II or maybe TUG? TIA for any guidance.

The TUG forums will have lots of advice and experience. (www.tugbbs.com).

We grabbed a week at Hono Koa in Honokowai in late July/early August '21. It was right on the ocean, and the location was great, but the units were definitely a little long in the tooth. We used a free usage week that was included in a Kauai timeshare we were adopting to make the exchange via GPX. For that price (a couple hundred dollars) it was fantastic.

This resort does show up reasonably often in Interval, where it is a Select (silver) rated resort. But, I would not have felt quite so good about it if I'd dropped 200 DVC points on it (which is what the exchange would have cost a DVC Member.)

Thanks for this info. I LOVE the Honokowai area because of the close ocean front views for whale watching in the winter. We were at Makani Sands (small, private rental property) last week and changed to Honua Kai on Saturday. The rooms here at Honua Kai are huge and really nice and the resort overall is great but I don't think this resort is in II. The Westin properties next door are all lovely but are hard to get through II, especially in the winter, which is the only time I want to go. I'll check out the TUG forums. I let my TUG membership lapse so might be time to rejoin.
