Trading in Counter service credit for snacks?

Are they still allowing this in 2011? We are debating on getting the dining plan and since we are going for the Food and Wine festival, it is imperative we know this information before we decide on the plan since many of the food choices can be used as a snack credit.

I believe when I was there in November we got 3 snacks for each counter service credit. Is it still the same? Thanks all for the help!

I was able to do that last Easter when we were there. I got 3 snacks for each CS credit left but was only able to do it in the food court area.

can you only trade them in at the resort you are staying at? What about at DTD?

I did it at the resort where we spent our last night. WE were staying on DVC for five nights and that is when we did the dinning plan we had until midnight on the day of our check out to use them. We stayed that night at ASM for 1 night and it was there in their food court that I was able to do the trade.

If you aren't planning on using it as it is intended then why not just place the money on a gift card. I would think in the long run it would be easier than not knowing for sure. Many people have reported only being able to do this at resorts. It seems to be a perk but not actually a rule and most have only been allowed to do it on their last night. I don't think I'd chance it personally.

We did this in January 2011 at Carribean Beach, it was 3 snacks for 1 counter service but they were particular about which area you could get your snacks from.

It seemed all perisable items were allowed and anything boxed/bagged was not. We did get rice krispy mickey heads on a stick. Also, they did make the exchange at an area in the middle of the food court. We had been staying at the Yacht Club, club level and had a yellow KTTW card and this caused mass confusion. If you are going to do the exchange, make sure you have time.
