Anyone have any luck trading to either Williamsburg VA or VA Beach? We are thinking of maybe going to Busch Gardens in June 2008, and thought of either staying in the historic area (williamsburg) or staying in the beach area and driving to Williamsburg for one or two days.

Any info on luck with trade requests??? 9how far in advance did you put your request, where did you stay, etc?)

Thanks

June at Virginia Beach will be almost impossible. Williamsburg for that time should be easy, esp if you can take a 1 BR.

Dean, I understand Virginia Beach being hard at that time of year with people doing their beach vacations. Why would Williamsburg be easy....I thought that might be a busy time of year for the Busch Gardens park also??

Think Orlando, Branson, Williamsburg and maybe Vegas as places that are pretty saturated in timeshares with a corresponding ease to trade to and relative lack of trade power comparatively. It might be tougher through DVC simply because they don't have all the II resorts on the list, there are also a number of RCI resorts. There are now two essentially in the historic district, Westgate and soon to be Bluegreen. I'd say the only week at Williamsburg that would be difficult is the 4th and even then it's no HI. Currently online at II essentially every resort and every weeks is represented except the 4th of July, most in a 2 BR at nice places. We had this some discussion a few months ago and at the time a large percentage of the weeks were represented at the Marriott resort.

Ultimately it comes down to the laws of supply and demand. Williamsburg has a moderate to moderately high demand and a lot of supply with a large seasonal variability. Orlando has a high demand overall but a boatload of units with somewhat less seasonal variability. I could live in Orlando in timeshares likely less than I pay at home for electricity, phone, internet, direct TV and homeowners insurance.
