What is the procedure for getting name on list?
What time do they start the list?

You have to physically be standing in line by Trader Sam's to have someone put your name on the waitlist, so it's different than waitlists on the app where you only need to be standing in the general area of the restaurant. At around 2:30-3 pm they start writing down names and they will text you when they are ready to call you back.

Last time I went I got in line around 2:30 and there were about a dozen groups in front of me already waiting; I ended up waiting an hour to be called back and even inside you are not guaranteed a table with a seat. My party had a share a table with strangers and there were a lot of people (including kids/teens) in the standing room only area.

If you want to be in with the first wave of people, I would be in the hallway outside of Trader Sam's no later than 2 pm. A host/hostess will take your name, phone number and amount of guests in your party. I would ask, at that time, if you will be in in the first wave (they only allow 50 people in, so they will tell you what number you are on the list). I would then be back in the hallway no later than 2:45 pm to hear your name called. The last time we were there, we did not get a text, so if we hadn't physically been in the hallway to hear our name, we would not have gotten in in the first wave. After the first 50 people are in, other guests will have to wait for those people to slowly trickle out in order to get inside and there is no guarantee you will find spots together. If you want to be one of the first ones in and you want seats together, get there at 2 pm.
