I know there’s sometimes a wait to get into Trader Sam’s. Is there such thing as a virtual queue where you will be texted when a table becomes available?

Yes, but you can't enter the queue remotely/virtually. You have to give your # to the cast member at the podium.

I would say there's almost always a wait to get in. Really the only exception is if you're among the first to put your name in before opening, but then you need to wait for it to actually open. You're not guaranteed a table when you do get in. We've had bar stools a few times and once we had to stand.

what's the general feel for how late can you walk up to be added to the waitlist and still get in? This would be for August. I would prefer not to go there at 2pm but would love to go after dinner (and can do dinner earlier to make sure I get in). If i walk up to get name added to the waitlist at 6pm, is there a decent chance that I would make it in?

They open at 3 and start taking names in-person at 2. The line usually forms around 1:45. Then you'll be texted when it's time.

Because capacity is so low it really depends on the day. You get beat out by a large bachelor party, all bets are off, you know?

If you walk up at 6 pm, it will be about a 3 hour wait, but if that's fine with you then you can get in.

does anyone have a feel for how large a group one person can realistically hold a spot for? asking because we're planning on queueing up with a bunch of families and want to figure out how many advance scouts we need to send early.

I was there a week ago and it was max 30 people in at one time. Parties will be split up as tables can seat about 4-6 at most together.

How many people will your party be?

maybe 20-25 if everyone goes? 4-5 families of 4-5. just wondering if 2 ppl could hold space for that many or we really need 4-5. (and yes, understood that families would be sitting apart.)

I would guess they won't let you take up nearly the whole bar with 1 or 2 people holding it. They may also stagger your group.
