We want to check out the new tiki bar but some people in our group will have their younger kids. We plan on going around 5 pm on a Sunday night.

I had heard that kids were welcome during the day but not allowed at night. What time is the cut off for those hours?

thanks!

I just found out about Trader Sam's at DLH and I'm excited about checking it out when we are there (not until June 2013!), so I've been looking up info on it. I read in a couple of different places that kids aren't allowed inside after 8:00 PM, but before that seems to be fine. We'll have our kids (older teens) with us and will probably be there on a Sunday afternoon/early evening too.

My husband loves tiki stuff and it looks like a really fun atmosphere. We are staying offsite, but I would love to go over and see the hotel anyway and this would be a fun excuse! Neither of us drink, but I think we could get an appetizer and some non-alcoholic stuff while we're there.

Have fun!

Yep, lvdis got it right. Anyone can go until 8pm. After that, the inside area (which has the bar) is 21 and over. There's also an outside patio where kids are welcome any time. There's frequently music on the patio; but all the cool details, pictures, special effects, etc, are all inside, so you'd miss those.

From http://disneyland.disney.go.com/news/tarangoa-terrace-and-trader-sams/

"Kids are welcome to sit at the cocktail tables until 8 p.m., at which time Trader Sam's is for Guests 21 and over," said Brian Van Amber, Guest Service Manager. "The outside patio features live music in the evenings, and kids are allowed there at any time until closing."

OOOO, awesome, thanks!! We'll be out of there way before 8 so it works out perfectly!

thank you for this thread I almost forgot about this place! Do they accept reservations??

Weird that I have seen kids in there after 8pm. Not that it's a big deal either way. It's not the typical bar.

We went in there at night with the kids trying to figure that out and the age/time limits are not posted anywhere that I could find. It was probably around 9pm. I took DS3 inside, holding him. Unfortunately I started pointing out the weird things in there then the storm scene happened on the pictures and that freaked him out. He wouldn't go in the next day. DH and I thought it would be a fun place to get a snack and drinks so we were bummed.

I was actually surprised how small it is in there. Not a ton of space to move around, and most of the tables are high. So if you have a large group with small kids it may be hard to get everyone together.
