Trader Sam's Lineup Question

Quick question for those who have waited in the line to get into Trader Sam's at 4pm....

I just wanted to make sure, it looks like the entire party has to be in the line, correct? My son naps until around 4ish, so it would be great if one parent could stay in the room with him while the other gets in line around 3:15-3:30 and then bring him down a little before 4pm. My understanding is this won't work, right? It isn't like a regular put your name and give the number in your party in type scenario, but more everyone needs there to get a number?

Also, if that doesn't wind up working out, and we don't go right when they open (I know kids get the boot at 8pm, no problem) do you get a beeper and get to wander around a bit, or are you waiting in a line? We definitely want to try it out, but just trying to figure out our best bet. Thanks!

Can't speak to the lineup as we got to TS at 4pm when we went. We did take a pager and the CM at the desk said it worked anywhere in the lobby, on both levels - we ended up wandering around both floors before just sitting by the new waterfall (we had about a 40 minute wait for 2 on a Monday night in June).

Thanks, that's helpful! We have a 5:45 Kona reservation one day and I was trying to squeeze it in before that, but if it winds up that I don't want to cut the nap short it's good to know we can explore while we wait.
