I haven't done Trader Sam's yet, but a friend returned from Disneyland and said it was well worth the visit, with the drinks and special effects.

I did see on the website that children are allowed there before a certain time, at which point it becomes adults only. During the time that children are allowed, do they still do all the stuff when people order specific drinks? Do they have virgin versions of drinks if we wanted to order something for our table?

There are non-alcoholic drinks with a special cup but they will not do a special drink non-alcoholic. So if you aren't going to order it you have to hope someone else does. Depending on when you go the inside of Trader Sam's can be packed even when it allows kids because it is a very small bar. I believe the WDW one is much bigger.

They do the effects when certain drinks are ordered. The space at DL is absolutely tiny. The space at WDW is small enough, but DL is teensy.

Yes, when kids are allowed they do all the fun stuff like the eruption when you order a Krakatowa (sp?) punch. They cant sit at the bar but they can sit at the tables inside.

We took our kids in when they were 14 and 11 with their grandparents and we all had a such a good time. Trader Sam's is a must for us now when we go to DLR.

The inside is quite tiny so we had to sit outside at the beginning but once a table opened up we all went in and had a few of the cool drinks so we could enjoy the show!

Have fun!

Trader Sam's is a blast! We will be taking our 3 kids in November, ages 19, 17, and 15.

The only time I haven't had to wait for a table inside was sitting at the bar when it opened. There are only 4 tables that hold 4 people in there. Anytime I've been there in the past 3 years or so afternoon or later even the bar has been full.

We've had good luck at the bar mid-day/early evening but tables are almost always full. Plan on waiting if you want a table.

We went there last July for lunch. We got there about 11:45a? and were able to get a table. It was a fun atmosphere but loud.
