Trade Test Track FP for Illuminations a good move?

I am very excited to ride test track, which I have a FP for on our last day. Family members have a FP for Illuminations that night and it would be nice to be together on our last night.

I was thinking of changing the FP to Illuminations. I have a park hopper and will be at Beach Club.

Is there a chance I will get onto TT earlier in the week? I'm thinking I can do single rider line. OTH, this means I will not use my 3rd FP that day. Could I get a 4th FP for Illuminations?

1. Sure.
Just go at rope drop and ride twice.
2. If you use the Single Rider Line, you could likely go most any time rather easily.
3. Very unlikely.

There are so many other good places to view IllumiNations other than the very crowded FP+ area, that I wouldn't bother with that FP area at all.

The Illuminations fastpass is useless. As Robo said, There are many very good places to watch it from and the FP+ area is more crowded than most of them.

I agree. Over a very crowded time, there were tape marks on the walkway in the front of World Showcase so people could sit there TWO hours before Illuminations. That same night, we passed all those people camping out (seriously, some people had sleeping bags) and did our own things until about 15 minutes before the show. We were at the back of the park (Germany) and had a front row spot. No FastPass needed at all.

I think you will be disappointed with FP area for Illuminations.The best view we ever had was at a desert party we went to.You can find a good spot between 30 to 15 minutes before Illuminations.
