OK. How do you rank the PINS pins? I get offers for them for rack pins. I don't mind trading for rack pins but I'm not sure what's equal. I know it depends on what's offered/asked for. In this case it's the Maleficent Medallion. The rack pins aren't highly sought after but they're not widely available either (generally retired). What would YOU consider it's value to be?

Ashley:confused:

Ashley,
First of all, many people knock P.I.N.S. pins and only offer rack. IMHO, I think they are strickly trying to take advantage of the new pin traders. They are pins just like WDW and DL that are LE 1000 or lower. Furthermore, yours is a Maleficient, which like Stitch and Tink sell out quickly. And you never see them (Stitch, Tink, Maleficent) in the resell listings. So even though the rack pin is no longer available, I wouldn't trade your pin for them. Again, just MHO.

I would have to want a rack pin an awful lot to trade a LE DA PIN for one.
Same goes for what few DA PINS and the event pins I have as traders. I have some that are LE250 - 1000. I receive offers from open edition pins to 10,000LE. I am offered an 2500LE if I am lucky.
And I still have mine as traders. ;)

I figure 2 $6.50 rack pins for a $10-12 pin
2 $8.50 rack pins for a $14 pin...

or PINS for PINS....

or 1 LE park pin for any value PINS...

if it was a rack pin in mint condition
from YEARS ago that I have salivated
over for a long time, I might consider it,
however, I'd trade any number of things
as long as it seemed equitable for each
party!

With PINS I tend to go for $ value more
than I would with a park LE pin...
PINS are easier to get in most regards... ie;
you don't have to be at a park to get one!

I consider rack pin trades for PINS. I don't always accept the offer, but I do consider it. There are some rack pins, especially when a couple of them are offered in trade for one PIN, that I will definately hop on. It just depends.

Heck, I'm newer at this than you are Ashley. But, I figure if the trade is something that makes you happy, go for it. Maggie

I have to echo Dave's warning!

These PINS are LE 250, 500, and 1000.

Yes, some will eventually be official "duds." But only some.

The lower the edition, the less likely the pin will bottom out.

I would not trade any of these pins for a rack pin.

A good rule in any type of trade: Beware a trader who belittles the value of your pins . . . or PINS. :earseek:

If it was a rack pin I really wanted, was long since retired and they were asking for a less popular PIN I'd probably make the trade. There are a few open stock pin on my want list that I've never seen in anyone's book so I'd trade a decent pin to get it. Just my
