Trade points

I'm new to DVC and these boards. I purchased into Aulani in 2012 and added 100 more points but was talked into buying at Xxxx My kids are older so not sure how much use I will get out of Xxx. So does anyone know how to to trade points if that is even allowed.

It's allowed via transfer, but there is a catch. You can only do one transfer per UY, so if you would have to trade this year for next year, or vice versa. Or instead, if you knew someone looking for a reservation at Xxxx. you would make a reservation for them, and then you would rent Xxxx reservation. This would be your best option. You could go through David's rentals to rent out your points, and then rent Aulani through him.

You might just consider using the combined points at the 7-month window. At the 7-month window "points are points" and their home resort no longer matters.

I had to edit your post to remove specifics, but are talking about wanting to trade in your contract for a new one so all your points are at Aulani?

If so, then the only way is to sell and buy more Aulani points. Disney will not take them back and there is no such thing as trading contracts.

I owned VWL and really knew, after buying BLT that is what I wanted so I sold and took a small loss to own all BLT. It's been well worth it to have all BLT points.

Thanks for the responses. I will see what happens at the 7 month window and decide if I want to sell my AkV and buy more Aulani. The responses have been very helpful.
