Tracphone Warning

I purchased a tracphone in 2008 to use in the USA as I live in Canada. When I went to reactivate my tracphone today, I was told that I required a new sim card as my old tracphone number had been reassigned. The problem is that Tracphone will not send the new sim card to Canada. You have to have an American address and it may take 7-10 days for the new sim card to arrive. Not good as I want to use the phone this week. As I will now have to purchase a new phone to use in the US, you can bet that I will not be purchasing a Tracphone. I sent an email to Tracphone's customer service and told them I would be posting this information regarding Tracphone's reactivation policy. I also let them know that I could not find any information about reactivation that mentioned obtaining a new sim card. I knew I would be assigned a new phone number, but there is no information regarding obtaining a new sim card. Sigh.......
