I believe that the free roaming charge/1-rate is according to what phone you have - not what area you live in or are calling from.

I now have the Motorolla v170 flip and the Nokia 1100 phones from Tracfone. Both of those models are a one-rate plan, which means for 1 unit per minute you can call to anywhere in the US, from anywhere in the US.

We used the Nokia exclusively at WDW to call home and had only 10 units deducted for a 10-minute call.

That's why I like this plan so much. It ends up being better for us than my husband's regular cell phone that charges us roaming when we're out of town.

It looks like you might be able to get 200 bonus minutes, when you add in your one-year card.

According to this:

60 free min w/purchase of 60 min 59715

Also: 200 free minutes with the 250 min one year plan card 59647

These expire on 3/31/06.

Call them. They can be pretty frustrating~by putting you on hold forever, or asking you to call back. But they practically always end up being helpful.

You should have gotten your 20 minutes for activating the minute your activation was complete. That's how mine worked.

Oh, and yes, the ESN is the IMEI number.

It's probably just a mistake. I had that happen about 2 weeks ago. When I entered the info into the referral email, it said something like 'this promotion is expired' and I KNEW it wasn't. When I called, the CSM put in the 100 min. manually. So don't assume it won't be fixed, just call them.

The 100 referral minutes are still good. Tracfone is great for preteens. We got our Grandson now 13 a tracfone for xmas when he was 12, It has worked out great and he showed us he can be reponsible for a cell phone. Just checked the website and saw that the flip phone is no longer available free with the 1-year card.

But they do have the Nokia 1100 free with the 1-yr card, so the deal is not dead. I'm going to go and add this to the 1st post for reference.

We have had the Nokia 1100 for about a year and have been very pleased with it. It holds a charge for many days, better than my regular cell phone!
