Monday 3rd
This morning we had our elusive 8:55 am PS at Cinderellas Royal Table :jump: The girls had a surprise awakening when I hit the speaker button on the telephone and they heard their first Mickey alarm call !:mickey: We hadnt told them where we were going but as a treat let them chose their favourite princess dresses (with their Polynesian leis) to wear while I nipped down to the lounge for some coffee, juice & pastries (Im not a fan of CRT food). For the first time we boarded the monorail from our hotel for the short journey round to the Magic Kingdom and headed up an almost deserted Main Street towards the Castle. Rachelle guessed straight away where we were going one very happy little girl ! We were actually on time for this PS something that didnt happen very often lol but didnt get to check in at the podium for quite a while as we had a very irate guest in front of us who didnt have a confirmation number and there was no record of her reservation. She insisted (read shouted) shed been up in the early hours calling for a PS 60 days previously to secure a table (now all good Disney addicts know that the PS rules changed to 90 days back in August !!) Obviously creating a scene works for some people as she was allowed to have a table without a PS
It wasnt long before we were summoned upstairs to breakfast, the girls were so excited and it was all I could do to keep them in their seats when the princesses entered. The food was ok but who goes there to eat ??
Rachelle had a very deep conversation with Cinderella about what it was like to be a servant but Cindy reassured her that it was her dreams that kept her happy and that all she had to do was believe and all her dreams came true it was one of those moments that a good CM can make very, very special.
Breakfast over we headed out to Fantasyland to ride the Carousel (again), IASW (again), Peter Pan (again) you get the idea
. It was here that Rachelle realised she didn't have her Cinderella purse with her (it had her birthday $$$ in) - so we hot-footed it back to the Castle. The CMs at the podium were great - the purse was found upstairs and Rachelle was consoled with some Mickey confetti - the CM told her that everywhere she went that day thatshe wanted to come back to she was to drop a piece of confetti, make a wish and she would be sure to return someday when her dreams came true - a real
moment
We then headed back to the Poly as Rachelle had another social event to go to ! Her final birthday treat was The Wonderland Tea Party with Alice that lunchtime. We went up to our room (via the lounge to grab some sodas see a pattern emerging here ?) to find birthday cake #5 waiting for us
I'd ordered a cake through concierge not realising wed get a complimentary one as well !! It was the most delicious birthday cake Ive ever tasted ! Vanilla and chocolate layered sponge with whipped cream and fresh strawberry filled, topped with buttercream and beautifully decorated. It would have fed our whole street !
Washed and refreshed I took Rachelle on the monorail to the Grand Floridian while Steve & Annabelle were planning to try out the volcano pool. We arrived at 1900 Park Fare and were given pagers and strict instructions on when and where to return. We were allowed to seat our children at the beautifully laid out table (I have a whole roll of film somewhere that Rachelle took of it herself!) before we were dismissed. I took the opportunity to explore the GF (still dont think I would ever stay there) and then sat on the beach in a swing and people watched. It was a lovely way to pass an hour, watching the boats going back and fore, kids playing in the sand and an English couple having their wedding photographs taken  At the allotted time I returned where we had to return our pagers and were let back into the Tea Party. I wont spoil things by telling you the surprise ending but it was really cute. Theyd had chicken nuggets, apple tea and a cup cake to decorate. Alice & the Mad Hatter had paid them a visit and they had a souvenir photograph taken with them
We headed around the monorail loop back to the Poly via the pool but couldnt see the others. Why ? Because they were fast asleep in bed !! When theyd woken up we all went down to the Volcano pool together. Its a great pool with a slide and a waterfall and zero entry at one end for the little ones. And where else can you get such a fantastic view from your pool ?
We decided wed try the evenings food offerings in the lounge Id heard such good reports about Chef Dicks culinary talents and we were not disappointed. Beef and Chicken satay, crudites & wine all extremely palatable. We had planned to dine at the Kona Café but to be honest with you even though it was only supposed to be appetisers it was more than enough with the birthday cake wed eaten. The girls tried PB&J sandwiches for the first time and didnt like them ! so they ate crudités and dips instead very healthy
We took our wine down to the beach , grabbed a hammock and settled down to watch the fireworks bliss. This is what makes the Poly such a dream hotel, I know anybody can come and sit on the beach and watch Wishes but it makes it special when its your hotel.
It was a lovely way to watch the fireworks and by the time the girls had finished playing in the sand it was liqueurs time in the lounge again
More scrummy desserts including some wicked fudge brownies on the kids table. We sat and savoured the cakes and coffee with kahlua and watched the Electric Water Pageant (it was the 2nd time this visit that wed seen it, first time from the ferry, but wed never seen it on 7 previous visits). The girls watched Disney cartoons on the huge plasma screen from the perfectly proportioned chairs and sofas and rapidly made friends.
Tomorrow was our last full day and we had no definite plans so I think we had one drink too many :drinkbeer: and the girls had several fudge brownies too many !! Rachelles turn to be ill again that night :nonono:
