I just heard about this Tri-Circle D Ranch at Fort wilderness and I am interested in checking it out. I have 2 DD, 4 and 3 and we are travelling with friends who have 3 kids, 4, 3 and 9 months.

Is this something they would really enjoy to take time out from all of the parks?

How much of a time committment would we need?

It there an entrance fee or is it just by activity?

How easy is it to get there from POR or ASMu?

Besides a petting zoo and pony rides, what else is in the area for young kids?

Thanks to anyone who has this information.

My DD2 enjoys the petting zoo but we stay in FW so it is not far for us to go to get there. There is not a fee to go there but if you take riding lessons or go on a trail, there is a fee. You would have to take a bus from POR or ASMu to get there but it would not be difficult. They do offer carriage rides but they are usually later in the day and there is also a fee for those. There is at least one playground that my DD likes but it is small. They also have a beach area that you could enjoy. I would say that by the time you take the buses and get to the petting zoo, I would allow about 4 hours to do this. We always enjoy doing this as an escape from the hectic parks and a nice quiet family activity. You should try it at least once for the kids.

one other option is leaving the mk early and take the boat over to the fwc and get something to eat at the trails end resturaunt (very good and very reasonable) then take a small walk to the pony rides and farm its like 50 feet away my dd loved that place fwc rules we are staying there sept 11-18 and can't wait

yeah about 3-4 with getting something to eat, the boat ride is like 15-20 minutes and OHHHH SOOO relaxing, you don't need any id or anything the last time we went in 2003 we stayed at po we actually took the boat over there just to go to the buffet and then after walked to the pony rides (was 3 dollars for each ride) and then jumped the boat back to the mk and then jumped the bus to p orleans i don't know if that was a longer way to do it but the boat ride was sooo relaxing we didn't mind it at all. my daughter was 4 and a half at the time and loved the boat ride, brought the stroller also not a problem, hope this helps:yay: :yay:
