TPAS2 Alumni and friends thread

It is sad to think that a year ago I had just finished a fantastic trip to WDW. Hopefully, I'll be able to plan a 2009 trip.

Our bathroom remodel is coming along. About two more weeks worth of work. I'll post pics when it is done.

Hey Trek,

Still working on the bathroom huh? I'm sure it will be gorgeous when it's done! :thumbsup2

Well it's that time of year again, the boys with the Red Sox's are back in action! :woohoo: 1 up 1 down.....bring them back to Fenway where they belong! :yay:

Hey Cruz,

How did the audit go? Hopefully all is well!

Where is everyone???? :confused3

Hello! I'm here...been doing fine. Gearing up for our normal spring schedule of baseball games, etc. My DD graduates from college and my oldest boy from high school, so another year of transitions.

What are you having done in the bathroom, trek?

How are you wic?

Im here!!!!!
I gave them everything (well pretty close anyway) and now its just a waiting game. Who knows how long it will be before I hear something?
So wic, did you book your trip yet? We were waiting for my grandmothers house to sell to book, but the buyer financing fell through (they finally approved everything but gave the poor woman an 11% interest rate) she is trying to get it done with a new mortgage company. But how knows?? Anywho, I am going to book in the next week or so, I'll just have to put down the deposit for her. I cant wait!!!!!!
7 months, 1 week, and 5 days........if I remember correctly.:confused3

Boy I have really missed you guys!!:grouphug:

Hey T&B...I'm doing well! Hope you are too! I had to laugh, I was scanning the boards yesterday, and came across a thread about giving Gas-X to dogs, the second post was to ask YOU, and it had a link to your Beano thread! :rotfl2:

So you've got 2 graduations this spring huh? :yay: Good for you! Any trips to WDW planned yet????

Has your husband had any luck finding a job yet????

Hi Cruz, no..I haven't booked the trip yet, waiting for the free dining announcement to come out first. I'm planning on going early September though, we're going to have a busy September this year, I'm in a wedding the end of September in Ohio...so I'm going to have to fly out for that too! I've got to hurry up and get that money tree planted in my back yard soon! :rotfl2:

So you're still playing the waiting game on the audit huh, that stinks!!! I'm sure you'll be fine though!

A friend of mine's niece and her fiancee were getting ready to buy a house in Hyde Park, and the week of the closing the mortgage company decided they wanted 10% down instead of 5%....they told them to ask friends and family to borrow the money! Janine said it would be one thing if they only needs a couple thousand $$ but $17K was out of the question!!!! They ended up having to walk away from the house! Gotta love the mortgage crisis right now!!!!! :scared1: My husband wanted to refinance the apartment building we own, but no one wants to give a mortgage on a non-owner occupied building right now, and we've got excellent credit too!

Hey I heard on the news this morning that the Boston Pheonix voted Roger Clemens the most "un-sexy" man in 2008! :rotfl2:

Hey all!!!

Glad to see people chatting it up again:woohoo:

As you can see by my tickers, we are traveling a bit in the next few months. Vegas is for DH's Microsoft meeting (I am going just to make sure he doesn't gamble the nights away :rolleyes1 )

Sorry to say we are not doing Disney again this year. We are going on a huge trip next Sept/Oct with SIL, BIL their 3 kids, me, Jim and our 3 kids.

Yeah, we are crazy - but it will be great, her kids will be 6, 5 and 20 months ours will be 14, 9 and 7.

Anyway - just wanted to pop in and say "HEY!!" to my commando peeps :yay:

Glad to hear about all the news.

In our bathroom we have completely gutted it to the studs. The old bathroom design was disjointed. The new design is going to have two sinks along one wall. An air tub (bathtub with small air holes) with mood lights along the second wall in the corner. The other wall/corner area is a shower area with a bench area with a hand held shower wand. The shower is also going to have a regular shower head and 4 body sprays. In another area is a small makeup table/cabinet.

The tile has all been installed and the new cabinets are going in today. On monday the granite counter tops should be going in. After that it is just installing the plumbing and lighting fixtures.

I'll post some pics when it is finished.

The new bathroom sounds like it going to be awesome! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see the pictures! :yay:

Hey I heard on the news this morning that the Boston Pheonix voted Roger Clemens the most "un-sexy" man in 2008! :rotfl2:

Free dining should be announced any day now, at least this is when they did it for the last two years. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

This woman buying my Grandmothers house was already putting down 10%, last week the mortgage co. told her she would need 15%. She had it, and agreed to put it down. Then this week they came up with the 11% rate. Its just crazy. You know I find is funny when people talk about this being because of "greedy lenders", though I think they should take some blame. What about the "greedy homeowners"? I know so many people who bought their homes for a good price and when the market went up, refinanced over and over again until there was no equity left in their homes. Now some of them can't afford the payments and can't sell because their homes are not worth nearly what they owe. My husbands cousin bought a 2 family for $145k about seven years ago. He now owes just over $300k and he would be lucky to get $180k. It looks like he is going to end up loosing it. I feel bad, but that is just plain stupid!

As for my Roger being the most "un-sexy" according to the Pheonix, all I will say is this is coming from a newspaper that is so bad they can't even get people to pay for it! :lmao: BTW, have they taken a close look at Manny, now thats a face only a mother could love!

My husband wants to refinance into an interest only loan for now, we plan on putting it up for sale as soon as the housing market settles down....we're oh so done with being landlords. We bought the house for $52K 10 years ago, it's worth around $170K right now. We are going to pull some equity out of it, finish up some projects around our home and then sell the apartment building. Our situation is completely opposite of your husbands cousin, we owe much less than what the house is actually worth! You laugh about me living in Templeton, the apartment building is in Athol!!!!! :scared1:

Manny definately has a face that only a mother could love! He needs to cut that god aweful looking hair too!

The Pheonix nailed him because they said he's a liar, drug abuser, and would sell out his own mother to save himself! Did he hang his own wife out to dry during his testimony over the steroids charges?? Someone that I work with said he did??:scared:

I really dont remember (it could possibly be selective memory on my part though)
I didn't know Athol was a bad place :confused3 . What is the matter with it? Do they have a different kind of Ho Down then you guys have in Templeton?:rotfl2:
You are right you and your hubby are nothing like the people I am talking about. I think they are just being plain greedy and not looking at the future. Look at all those idiots on Deal or No Deal. Many of them give up a couple of hundred thousand or even more, because they get greedy and want the Million. We watch it now and then just to show our boys what greed can do. Any other day of the week they would have been thrilled to win that kind of money!
Who do I think I am today Allen Greenspan???:rotfl:

Oh my husband can't stand watching Deal or No Deal, those contestants drive him absolutely insane! I can't tell you how many times, he's screamed out "TAKE THE MONEY" only to watch them loose everything on the next case! :rotfl2:

Oh Athol isn't bad, just a little more ho-down than Templeton! :lmao: They tip the cows for a reason in Athol! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

You all crack me up!

That bathroom sounds wonderful! And the tub and mood lights... :rolleyes1 ;)

Nope, no job. We're lucky to still have the house at this point.

Has he had any job offers at all, has he looked out of state again? I know you had said a while ago that there were a few cities he was looking into?

He's looking out of state, but no offers. The economy right now is really working against us.
