I've been away for a few weeks and was wondering if I missed this? Usually every summer I stock up on Legos for Christmas with this promotion but not sure if I should wait?

I haven't seen it yet. I'm waiting also as well as playmobil sale.

One thing to watch with TRU is that they mark up the price of the Lego sets to begin with. A lot of the times they are 30% more than if you ordered from Amazon or Lego directly or bought at Target. So, Buy One Get One 50% is really only 25% off to begin with, so if they are marked up you really aren't getting anything off.

Check and make sure the sets aren't marked up before you buy. I always walk through TRU with my smartphone, checking prices on Amazon or Lego to make sure it really is a good deal.

Agree.

This is a terrible, terrible deal.

Toys "R" Us marks up LEGO 25-100% (yes, 100%) depending on the set. Pretty much nothing is sold at retail.

The Jabba Palace, for example, is frequently found for $95 at Target and Amazon; sells for $120 retail; and is marked up to $150 at Toys R Us (and if your Toys R Us is in a nicer area, it's $165).

Stock up on LEGO during the summer during the Target, K Mart and Wal-Mart clearances. Target just cleared out a lot of LEGO and had great deals as much as 70% off retail.

Playmobil at Toys R Us is a good deal, especially on the BOGO sales, because Toys R Us charges regular retail pricing for Playmobil.

Yea, I know my prices before and Toys R Us does mark up a little but all three sets that I get are the larger ones ($100 plus) so the 3rd one being free more than makes up for the mark up - I guess it just depends on what sets you are buying.
