We're staying at WDW at OKW Villa's for 10 days in August with our 3 year old and 6 year old girls. Our kids need and like some downtime in the Villa and we usually pack a bunch of books and small toys for them to play with.
This time, I'm considering shipping a few small toys through Amazon to surprise them with at the villa. Any recommendations?

Also, anyone had any issues or suggestions with Amazon shipments to the resorts?

Thanks!

We always just bought some legos from the lego store in DTD. There's also a giant toy store in DTD.

Thanks. I'd like to have the toys there when we arrive as it's more cost effective than buying Disney toys. Also sooo much less stressful to buy toys without the girls there. :)

How about floating bath toys they can use during bath and also at the pool? Maybe a plush character (their favorite character). I don't have experience with using Amazon directly to hotel but would make an "Attn" note for your family and try to get the shipment to be there a week before because supposedly from other posts it will go through a network to get to the hotel which takes time.

Bath toys are a great idea. Thanks!

How about the Magiclip Princess dolls? Both of the girls might like that. What about puzzle books or activity books?

I haven't used Amazon to ship to the resorts, only UPS, which worked out great.

Good luck and what a fun idea!

I have never used Amazon to ship to WDW, but I DID use diapers.com.
It was easy. Well, except I timed it to arrive when we got there, which was stressful. And, I called the hotel to let them know I was expecting a package.

I suppose you don't have to time it, but they want you to have your goods to them only a few days before you arrive- which is understandable, because they can't store everyone's stuff.

Anyway, do your kids like crafts? Would they like some Melissa and Doug items? They are relatively inexpensive.

I thought of another idea... My First Sticky Mosaic for the 3 yr old and there is also a more "grown up" version for the 6 yr old with smaller pieces. My two girls really like these and it keeps them busy.

We always took toys with us until quite lately and DS is almost 9. Now TV or a ipad is enough. We always put small stuff in and around clothes in our luggage. We did things like matchbox cars, art stuff, super heros etc. As someone mentioned above one of our favorite things is to get some new legos from DTD. He still loves to do this. A new kit to work on during the week or a fill your own tubs is all he needs for the week. One trip years ago we did the mr potato head...OMG.....you would have thought he was in heaven. He played with it the entire week. Its a favorite memory. Boxes are easy to ship and shipping toys would be no different than food or baby items.

I've never used Amazon to ship to Disney but I have used it to ship toys to my in-laws' in Florida. I believe there is a shipping sticky somewhere on here (maybe resort board?) that should give you address stuff. Just remember that you need to be able to get it home afterward. My kids like Tangoes, books, small lego sets and Bendaroos.

It's not Amazon, but do you have a Dollar Tree near you? They usually have a lot of small Disney stuff (coloring/activity books, crayons, character figurines, stickers, etc.) that wouldn't cost a lot and wouldn't take up much space in your luggage.

It's not Amazon, but Target just had a huge clearance on their Dollar Spot. We found sticker books, activity books, and Minnie Mouse wooden dress up dolls. On Amazon, maybe look up the Fisher Price little people - they have a ton of Disney stuff and it all works together. A few character sets would pack well for the trip home! Or Disney Princess Lego Duplo sets - they are a huge hit in our house!

One of my favorite things I got for my son this last trip was a bubble magnet book. Make sure you take a baggy for the magnets though, as it's easier to contain them that way after they're taken out of the original packaging. We have a cars one, but there are Minnie and princess ones as well. When he played with his while waiting for our flight home, a little girl came up and asked to join him. The two of them had fun during those boring moments.

We also took a naked potato and got parts for it. While not the cheap route, it was something he played with our entire stay.

Here's just some ideas I found on Amazong when I searched "girls toys":
  • Crayola Light Up Tracing Pad
  • Melissa & Doug Friendship Stamp Set
  • Stick N Style Blinglets
  • Frozen Bowling Set
  • Disney Princess Enchanted Cupcake Party Game
Hope these help!
