Toyota owners - how old is your car/truck?

I've watched too much tv tonight, this is my second tv-related question.

So...I saw a commercial saying 80% of Toyotas sold twenty years ago are still on the road today.

We personally have a Toyota truck that is going on 15 years old and still going strong. Well, it makes the recycling center run every weekend, at least, and gets the pine straw in the fall....

So, anyone else got an oldie but goody hanging in there? :drive:

We have a 12 yo Camry with 145,000 miles on it :)

1995 Camry. Our mechanic says it's just hitting middle age!

We bought a 1989 Corolla new and drove it until 2004 when we sold it to our Schwan's guy. He is still driving it 20 1/2 years later :thumbsup2. We put a new starter in the car when we owned it, that was it for repairs.

I have a 2004 Camry but it only has 40,000 miles (I work from home) and needless to say, it is going strong.
This is my 3rd Toyota and if the previous ones had not gotten totalled in wrecks, I would still be driving the now.
I'll tell you another oddity about my Toyota's. In 2 wrecks I was in the middle of a 6-7 car pileup. All other cars were totalled but mine in the middle. The tow truck drivers could not believe they had to tow everyone else off and I just drove off. Now, the insurance totalled it because of the value. They are great cars!!

I have a '99 Camry. Replaced the engine at 143K miles. Not too happy about that. It now has 186K miles. Lots of plans to get something new, just no money to match the plans.

Throwing a rod through the engine is the only major non-maintenance issue I've had with the car. If you're going to to do something, might as well do it big. And it happened on a major DFW freeway at 530pm on a Friday 25 miles from home and 30 miles from where I was going. It was awesome. My children heard me say words they didn't know I knew.

ETA: even with the above mentioned engine replacement, I'll be buying another Toyota when the time comes.

We are a Toyota family. I have a '96 Geo Prizm which was built on the same frame as the Corolla and is basically the same car. It has never given me any grief! The only thing I've had to replace was the clutch a couple of years ago. DH has an '03 Tacoma and we recently bought a 2010 Corolla.

We're going to hold on the Prizm and give it to DD when she starts driving in a couple of years.

I have a 1996 Camry with about 145,000 miles. I just got the hood repainted at the beginning of summer. I love this car!:thumbsup2

TC:cool1:

1993 Camry with approx 250,000 miles, no major problems yet (the clear coat has started pealing)

Don't know if Geo Prism's count since it was based on a Toyota Corrolla. But if so, then mine was on the road for 12 years. DH has a Toyota Matrix that is 3 years old this month.

We have a 1997 Camry with 145,000 miles on it - my DH takes it to work. We are probably going to turn it in soon and buy a new Corolla. We love our Toyotas! :thumbsup2

karenos;)

had a corolla. donated it after driving 270,000 miles on it (still going strong). just needed to get a truck. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED my toyota!

I have a 2001 Camry with about 117,000 that runs great. I hope to have it for another 100,000 miles.

We recently retired a 1993 Corolla, a car nearly old enough to drive itself. It had just shy of 200K.

Prior to that, we had a Camry that lasted a good 15 years, which we replaced because we needed a different style of car.

I'm driving a 2002 Echo with nearly 200K on her. I'm hoping she'll be around at least another 5 years.

I have a 1993 Camry but it just has 75,000 miles on it.

The only repairs ever done to it were a set of brakes and just a year ago I had to have the driver's power window worked on.

We have a 1999 Corolla with over 130k on it. Can't kill the thing. DH says it's a dream to do the maintenance on (does it himself)... everything is located within easy reach. We've also had good experience, as a general rule, with Toyota service locations.

When I totalled our Forester last year, we bought a 2008 Sienna. Love it!

DH is looking at the Prius to replace the Corolla in a year or two.

I have the new Prius and absolutely love it!!!

My mom has had her Corolla for 15 years and it still runs great and they also have had a Camry for 10. I just sold my 2003 Corolla when we bought the Prius. I could of had it for years to come, but it was a stick and I was ready for an automatic. I sold it to my co-worker's son, and it could last another 10 years or more if he continues to maintain it. :)

We have a 1998 4Runner with 270,000 miles on it. The only maintenance that has ever been done on it is oil changes, brakes and tires. The antennae no longer goes up and down but other than that it's in great condition and the exterior still looks brand new.

Before that we had a Celica that we sold when it had 240,000 miles on it because we wanted a 4 wheel drive. It was still in excellent running condition but the paint was starting to go.

Our "new" car is a 2005 Solara.
