Where can I find the best online (current) strategy for TSMM? In one week I'm going with a group of 18 friends and I will need to pull out all stops to get the best score

Go there during EMH, right away. Most folks head to RSR so you should be able to get on right away. Otherwise the wait is usually, IME, 45 minutes. Whether you have a party of 5 or 18....

Shoot as much as possible; as far as I know, accuracy has no effect on the score. My friend suggested holding the pull cord in such a manner that it goes back in just enough to reset, but you don't have to let it go all the way back (let's you shot more). I tried to figure it out, but I couldn't get it to work. There is also the obvious...aim for the high value targets!

The best way to achieve a high-score at TSMM is to ride it again and again for more practice! Unfortunately, the line is usually prohibitive for that, unless you ride it right at opening (or even better, during EMH). But if you want some advance preparation, read this:

Even though it says WDW, the ride on both coasts is identical and the tips will work for either one.

I learned, and it has always worked, that you don't have to pull the cord all the way out, but you do have to let it go all the way back in.

Your arm WILL be sore. If it is, you're doing it right.

There are tricks for gaining more points on all of the different screens. For the balloon screen hit the long balloons at the top of volcano. You have to clear them three times and then volcano explodes balloons.
On the plate toss, every so often two plates are tossed up in the air, one on the left and one on the right. If you break both of them, then a tank comes out which allows you get more points. On the green alien screen, if you can get your hoops over all the aliens in the center rocket area so that all the aliens drop down at the same time, then a big robot will come out which allows you to get more points.
The trick is to know this and then team up with your partner to make it happen. Make sure both of you are ready for the plates to be tossed up so you can each hit one. Also, I have my partner hit the top aliens and I hit the bottom aliens to get rid of them all before more pop up.
Accuracy doesn't matter, so pull your trigger as fast as you can.

In the first scene, the barnyard, aim for the fox on top of the hen house in the corner. Once he goes down, high point chickens (3 of them) come out of the hen house. Shoot those and then the fox pops back up. HE is worth 500 points and the chickens are 1000 and 2000 points. Also when the announcer says don;t let the donkey get away, aim for the 500 point donkey walking on top of the highest hill. Once you hit him, he flips and heads back the other way. Now he is worth 2000 points. I typically never move from aiming at the hen house and continually shoot those chickens (except to get the donkey) My score is usually 2800 or so for this room.

I have the perfect solution for you…invite me to join your party. Every single person (including your blind grandmother) will score higher than me. Now, your whole group will be winners and be happy with themselves. Truly. I don't mind playing that role for ya'll.

Pretty good advice

I always play 2 in a ride vehicle with my GF and we help each other to open the higher scoring opportunities.
