With the addition of a third track, are the wait times at TSM shorter or the same?

I was there last week and never saw a third track. We went on using a fast pass. Does the third track grab people from the stand by line? It didn't look any different to me.

like other have said the wait times are shorter about 45 minutes ( give or take) but this has been the new norm so the wait seem long now, before it could be any where from 60-90+ minutes.

the third track is after the FP reuguler line come together you go right up the stares ( or if you are in a wheel chair up the ramp) the third trice you will go left at this point.

We saw an average of a 45 minute wait during our visit last week, in the past, most of the time it was 60+ so it has definitely helped, but in no way eliminates waiting all together.

The third track is to the left, and they take from both stand by and FP+ to fill it. If you go to the LEFT and wrap around into Andy's room, you are riding on the new track. The prior track is still up and down the stairs to the loading area. If you never went left, and did not walk in through Standby, you wouldn't notice a difference at all. We did walk through Standby when the line was only 10 minutes near park close (most guests were on the streets waiting for the Star Wars show) and I noticed the weave of the line has changed (though it has probably been at least 5 years since I've entered standby) and no more Mr. Potato Head :(

I understand where it's at. I can't believe I didn't notice it. When did the third track open? We were there at Thanksgiving and a week ago. I think once we grab our glasses and get sent through we just run up the stairs excited. Where is the exit for the third track?

I do think that now if Rock n Roller Coaster and Midway Mania are both on your agenda, I'd be more inclined to Fastpass RnRC now. Over the past ten days we were just there, the wait times for RnRC were ALWAYS higher than Midway Mania. If you hit Midway Mania early or late, you'll fare better, obviously, in terms of a wait time.

The park just has so few options now, but TSMM seems more capable of handling the crowds now than RnRC (which surprises me, honestly).

Noticeably shorter when we've been there. (February, September)

This was our experience in February as well. We rode it several times via FP+ and once standby and the waits all three times were definitely shorter.

I TOTALLY agree with this. The lines for RNR were CRAZY last week! Higher than I have seen in a long time. I think that all the rides are seeing longer waits while so many things are closed or in transition at this time.....we saw RNR hit 150 minutes yesterday. We rode the single rider lane and waited about 30 minutes which wasn't so bad. It will be interesting to see what happens when the new areas start opening up ..... though I think that will draw more crowds so it's hard to guess.

As far as the exit for the third track, gosh I don't really remember, wasn't paying much attention but I think we were let out on the other side of the building, by the wall with the Toy Story Land mockups.

The exit for the 3rd track is at the far end of Pixar Place, where the walls are up for the expansion.

I rode TSMM 10x this past week and only utilized the third track once. When you enter from standby or FP+, going right is the original ride and the left is the new third track. The CMs just tell you which one to go to. Its the same red/orange striped theme, but down a hallway rather than up stairs and it leads you into a smaller loading section, themed the same way. As @caliope mentioned, you exit by the construction. I felt it took slightly longer to load since you entered and exited on the same side. Other than that, still the same great TSMM!

I agree that a RnR FP+ would be a much better tier 1 choice now! It had wait times posted that were double TSMM last week, sometimes even 2 hours!

I just look at the wait times, from the Disney App, and they are confirming what you are saying. Its 12:47 WDW time on Monday and TSM is showing a wait time of 25mins versus RnR at 105min and ToT at 80 mins.

On my last visit I was down by the wall to Toy Story Land cause the green army men were having a hool-a-hoop contest. I saw people coming out the exit and I wondered what it was. We've been able to get TSMM FP's later in the day several times. But it's only for quantities of 2-3.
