All, I am sure this has been discussed, and I have tried searching for it, but I must not be using the right criteria for searching because I am just not finding the information I am looking for. So I apologize now if the question has been asked a million times before, but here it goes anyway....

Our DHS day will be our 60+3 day, if I am unable to get FPs for SDD, should we get FPs for TSM or AS2? In looking at FP availablility, it seems like AS2 would be the FP to get, but I just wanted to double check. Our plan would be to RD and head straight to TSL . Much thanks!

We were able to get a FP for SDD at 60+3. Instead of morning as I was hoping, it is mid afternoon. So if you are not picky as to the time, it could work.
Otherwise, RD early, it seems at least 45 minutes before opening time.
Based on wait times, it looks like the next FP after SDD would be AS2
Good luck!

Speaking only for my trip, AS2 has gone to no availability sooner than TSM. When I booked for 60+1, there was no SDD, but quite a bit of choice for both TSM and AS2. Now when I check back, AS2 is showing no availability on that day, but I could modify a FP for TSM at several times.

I personally chose the TSM FP because that's what my kids would prefer to ride, but YMMV. My guess is that those TSM FP will be snapped up by the time we go next month, so it won't matter which we picked because we'll only have one. To me, it doesn't matter which FP went to unavailable first if they're both unavailable by the time we're in the park.

Plus, AS2 is under 2 minutes, while TSM is about 8. If I'm trying to get as much done during RD as possible, I probably want to RD the ride with the shorter time and then get to the next ride.

Okay, if I am understanding correctly, my 60 day mark for my Dec30-Jan 4 trip is October 31. When you say 60 + you mean when I log on for fast pass on Oct 31 I should try o get my fast passes for the later days out rather than my first day there, is that correct? Our main goal is SDD

Thanks

I got AS2 for the my first day and SDD for my second. On the first day after I used my 3 I was able to get 2 same day FP for TSM. The second day I did AS2 stand by with a 20 minute wait.

60 days out is the first day you can book your FP. That is, it's the day you check into your hotel. 60+1 is the second day of your trip, etc.

Since there is little chance of getting a SDD FP on the first day of your trip, and a pretty good chance of getting it on a later day in your trip, the standard advice is to book the later days first, get your hardest FP, and then work backwards and fill in.

I have 5-day tickets, and am not going to the park on arrival day, so my FP window opened on day 60, but I was booking for 60+1 through 60+5, which gave me a slight advantage over people booking for day 60. I started by grabbing FOP for 60+4 (my top priority), then got SDD for 60+5, then booked 7DMT for 60+3 and 60+2. Finally, I booked TSM on 60+1. Then I went back and filled in my other 2 fast passes for each day.

Yes, that is what I would do. For the hardest to get FPs, I always look towards the end of our trip first.
