2018 for toy storyWhat's the latest rumors on completion dates? Our next trip will be June 2018, extended family of 10, including grandkids to celebrate my retirement, would be nice if they were completed by then.
Disney can't even tell us when the Star Wars fireworks will be next month. So, no, there's no rumored dates beyond the general 2018 and 2019.Any idea on what month yet? And do crowds get kind of crazy when they open a new section?
Husband said he wanted to do Star Wars Land next time, but wondering if we'll end up doing a trip earlier if we can't wait that long.

Too early to say.Any idea on what month yet? And do crowds get kind of crazy when they open a new section?

Tell me about it. For October, they announced extended hours around September 3rd and it's already October 5th and still no word if they will extend HS hours for November. I can understand about AK since they don't know about ROL date but Star Wars fireworks is already working so why can't they tell us early????Disney can't even tell us when the Star Wars fireworks will be next month. Toy story might be mid 2018. Every project is different and it's hard to compare. Toy story is fairly simple land for Disney.I would doubt anything will be open by mid 2018 at the pace they build things. (See AvatarLand, Disney Springs, Disney Springs Parking garage).
They may open some things though as opposed to all of it at once, but who knows.
Thinking about it now is like wondering if its going to rain two months from now.
Not always. Disney is on schedule right now and there is no reason to believe they will take 5-6 years on a land. Disney has never taken that long. When they're open....they're open. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if the lands were open in 2019 or 2022. Disney is always, ALWAYS way behind their original announced opening dates.
If you believe Star Wars Land will be open in 2019 you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
Construction didn't begin on Avatar until 2014, so it will be 3 years, not 6. Toy Story construction started this year and contains only off the shelf rides, so it is not as complicated as Avatar.I believe Avatar Land was announced in 2011. It won't be open until 2017. That's 6 years, so it HAS taken Disney that long to build a land. When did they announce Star Wars/Toy Story land? This year, right? So 2016 + 6 years = 2022 opening date if they keep to the Avatar Land schedule.
Announced doesn't equal construction. Construction began in 2014. 2017-2014=3 years...I believe Avatar Land was announced in 2011. It won't be open until 2017. They did but construction didn't start then.I'm pretty sure they announced Star Wars / Toy Story Lands back in mid August of 2015 at the D23 event.
