Toy Story for Wii

I have heard many people did not like the Toy Story game for Wii.

The holiday toy catalogs advertise a Toy Story 3 game for Wii. Any reviews for that one?

The first one was called Toy Story Mania, this one is Toy Story 3.
The first is based on the Disney attraction, the second on the movie?

I would imagine the Toy Story 3 one would be based on the movie. I haven't heard any reviews (pro or con) for it. Far more interested in Epic Mickey, as I enjoyed the Kingdom Hearts series.

Toy Story Mania was a christmas day novelty that wore off very quickly!
I've heard decent things about Toy Story 3 (at least on ps3) tho, not great things, but not bad things.

Epic Mickey on the other hand sounds all sorts if wonderful and hopefully it will live up to that

The best site for investigating reviews is metacritic.com. They group all of the web's reviews and combine them into one score. They also link to the various reviews in case you wish to read them.

That said, the metacritic score for Toy Story 3 game is 76, whereas the Toy Story mania is only 49.

We hated Toy Story Mania on the Wii, it loses the charm which keeps it alive in the parks very quickly.

However maybe the new guns to go with it might help!

Toy Story 3 is based on the movie, and I guess will be more or less like the old games based on Toy Story where you complete missions which are like the story in levels. I might be wrong, but that was my experience of the Toy Story 2 game. I would check out some reviews online first!

We bought this, I thought it was ok. I mainly got it for the movie reward points (there was an offer for double points).

It's a platform game with different scenes from the movie, there is also a toy box area with mini games (some were quite tricky). On the whole it was ok, I completed it pretty quickly and it wasn't too hard but some bits took a couple of tries.

I'd buy it if you're after a game that will keep you busy, once you start a level you have to finish it - you can't save it part way through.

Personally I thought it was missing something, you collect cards on the levels but when you have them all there is nothing 'extra'. Also I couldn't work out how to enter Woody's area in the toy box (there were no hints online either). I'm a completionist but I found some of the tasks were a bit tricky (the mini games) and as I said once you've done all the levels and most of the mini games that's it.

It's different to Toy Story Mania, I wouldn't compare the two of them.

I'm looking forward to Epic Mickey - that's my sort of game

I dislike movie games because they are all the same - you follow the storyline of the movie (loosely) and then when you are done there is virtually zero replay value. It is never new after that first play. They get boring quickly and wind up never getting used again after the first month or so (or however long it takes to "beat" the game).

I agree, we traded ours in and got about two thirds of the money we spent originally back Plus the movie reward points.
