Toy Story 3

We are taking our daughter while we are in Disney next week . . . we thought it would be cool to see it at the park.

CANNOT WAIT!:)

We saw it on Tuesday night. We loved it, both cried at parts, I wouldn't call it sad though. I loved the ending.

I loved the short, I thought it was one of their best.

Elizabeth.....not really sad, but well....moving...

So what did everyone think of the short before the movie "Day and Night"?

I wasn't sure if that was playing across the country. At first we were like, "Huh?" and then we got it. It reminded me of the old cartoons when words weren't a necessary part of the story.

We saw it Friday night at Pleasure Island's ETX theater. We loved both the short (very existential) and the movie!

Trying to find out if the "Sid" listed in the credits is supposed to be the same one from the first TS. If it is it was not the same actor.

Depends on what personal baggage you bring to the theater, I guess. I thought UP! was horribly sad.

I agree. I watched UP right after my Grandma died. Not a good idea. I thanked all my friends for the heads up.

For toy story I am going this weekend with a 3 and 4 year old....who thinks that is going o go well....anyone?

Everyone in our family loved it! After the movie we had a great discussion of which of our toys must be in charge when we leave the house. For me I am sure it was my Pooh bear (okay, yes, he still lives in my room and I am in my 40s!) My oldest daughter said her doll, Olivia, is in charge because her blanket doesn't have a face!

I really liked the part where Mr Potatohead became a tortilla. I loved the ending. Perfect!

I thought it was clever that Sid was the garbage guy driving the garbage truck...he grew up but still wore the infamous skull tshirt!

I cried like a baby at the end. Then I went home and hugged all my toys. And of course, on Saturday after opening day I hit up a garage sale and found a lite brite for $1.00 I had to buy it because it used to be my favorite toy!!!!

Well, it depends on the kids. My former charges were fine at movies - they enjoyed going. My current charge is TERRIFIED of darkened theaters and loud noises so there is NO WAY I would take her to the movies. Of course the baby wouldn't sit through a movie. If the older one would like it I would pick her up on the weekend and take her, but she's just not to that point yet.

Great. DS is already quite the blossoming hoarder. Now this movie is going to make him never part with anything again. We do still have a Lite Brite. ;)

Well we have changed plans and are going to the drive in!:thumbsup2

Wow you have a drive in by you that plays first run movies!?

I have said for YEARS....Diseny needs to build a drive in theater, showing first run Disney movies! Park some vintage cars up front for those who use DME.....It would cost nothing to build!

But what do I know.....:confused3

Oh gosh, that would be GREAT!!!! Vintage cars are not hard to come by (heck, we're right on top of Old Town) and they wouldn't have to "run" just be vehicles that could be used as seating.

A/C would be a factor though, but Disney could easily come up with some imagineering way to get A/C to cars that were just "seats" instead of fully operating vehicles.

Can I be the roller skating car hop? :teeth: (Now if that doesn't scare you, NOTHING will). :teeth:

They already have this...Sci-fi Dine-in! Oh, you said first run Disney movies!! :rotfl2:

Yep. I have not gone in forever so it was a good change. We thought the girls (2 &4 ) would not make it in a theatre. Turns out they only made it 10 mins outside too!

I think in all the place had 6 screens, all showing 1st run! Cheaper than going to the movies and much more comfortable.:thumbsup2

Now for all the comments about the movie: I think it should have ended sooner. That would have made it sad. ( I am sure you all know what sceen I am speaking of....they are all hholding hands....) The way it ended was a happy ending. Not sad at all. :confused3

we have 3 drive ins near us that play first run movies :thumbsup2

we saw toy story 3 at the drive in, we all sat outside in chairs, it was great, no one could see my face as I was sobbing in this movie!!

I thought it was ending at that spot too, where they are holding hands. I thought that was it.
the end was nostalgic sad to me. for different reasons, i won't go into since i don't want to spoil the end for anyone.

You've got one not too far from you too :rolleyes1

ETA: This one is probably closer to you

I didn't know that, I will definitely have to check one of those out. I use to love going to drive ins when I was younger, but all the drive ins that were near me when I lived in NJ closed many many years ago.

That would be great!! I would definitely go.
